“What… what do you mean by ‘nutrition,‘ Vince? I don’t understand what you’re talking about,” Estelle stumbled
over her words, her face flustered.
Vincent had anticipated her reaction. He pulled up the security footage from the gate of the Long Estate that day.
Estelle was so arrogant and confident back then that she had forgotten about the cameras at the gate.
“You’ve been pretending to be weak all these years, acting so concerned about Jude only when in front of me. Behind my back, you’ve been bullying her to no end!”
“If it wasn’t for what you said at the birthday party, I would never have realized just how hypocritical you are.”
“Because of your hypocrisy, I’ve had to repeatedly kill my own children, I even had to make sure Jude could never get pregnant again. I deserve to die for it, I admit it! But you…. you actually bribed people around me, to… bully. even more. She’s no longer a threat to you. Why can’t you just leave her alone?!”
As the truth came to light, Estelle was left speechless.
“Vince, I… I had no choice. The fortune teller I consulted said that only by… eating those things… could I have a son. Only a son would secure my position. I swear, I had no other option!” her tears flowing as she pleaded.
“Enough!” Vincent snapped. “All you think about is your status, your “Mrs. CEO” title. Have you ever thought about Jude? Why did you tell her that it was me who gave you the child? Wasn’t it all just to push her away from me, to make me your puppet, completely at your mercy?!”
“You wanted a son, you wanted to be the Mrs. CEO so bad, right? Estelle, I’ll make you feel what it’s like to lose
the one thing you care about most.”
Vincent clapped his hands and a few men in white coats walked in, their expressions cold and menacing. Estelle’s eyes filled with terror.
“What what are you going to do? I’m cousin’s wife, the future Mrs. CEO and I carry your family’s bloodline. You can’t hurt me!”
Vincent grinned, a twisted, hellish smile. “Mrs. CEO? You think you’ll ever have that title after driving Jude away?” “Take the filth out of her body, no anesthesia. And make her watch as she eats it.”
The men dragged Estelle away and soon, her screams filled the entire estate.
When we traveled to Snowdonia, Jared and I both fell in love with the aurora. Its dazzling beauty was so breathtaking that not even the most skilled photographers could capture even a fraction of its stunning brilliance.
After discussing about it, we decided to stay here for a while and also begin working on our screenplay. Aside from writing, I also became passionate about sea fishing and often took my catch to the harbor to sell. One day, Jared and I were haggling over a fish with a miserly old man when a familiar voice suddenly broke through.
“I’ll buy all of this seafood.”
Vincent appeared right in front of me.
He gazed at me with a mixture of obsession and longing and after a long pause, he finally spoke softly, as if afraid to disturb a dream.
“Jude, I finally found you.”
Before I could say anything, Jared turned into a protective shield, stepping in front of me and unleashing a furious criticism at Vincent.
“You bastard, you still had guts to look for Jude! Is it not enough that you’ve ruined her life? Get lost! We wouldn’t
sell you anything, not even if we were tossing it to the dogs.”
Vincent, a man who valued his pride above all, took the verbal assault without defending himself. He looked at
me with guilt and desperation in his eyes.
“Jude, I know I’m a monster. I’ve wronged you. Can we talk, just the two of us?”
Hooked at him coldly and said, “Vincent, between us, there’s no more ‘talking‘ to be done.”
“You don’t need to apologize. Just go back.”
Vincent stubbornly shook his head.
