Chapter 5
Bella hung up the phone.
She calmed herself down and silently tidied up the mess on the floor. “Mr. Weber’s visa had expired, and as he is old and inconvenient to travel back and forth, he entrusted me to help him handle it.”
Jeffrey wondered, “Isn’t Mr. Weber’s daughter in the country? Why didn’t he let his daughter handle it?”
Bella snapped, “Otherwise, why don’t you give his daughter a call and ask?”
“I wasn’t that free. ”
“Then you asked fewer questions.”
Bella spent the whole night tidying up the bedroom.
The clothes and shoes that were dirtied and messed up by Nicole, she didn’t plan to take them away either, so she simply piled them all in the corner of the wardrobe.
She managed to salvage a few rolls of film.
But the film has been soaked in water after all, and it has been severely distorted and cannot be used.
All those bottles and jars of cosmetics, the liquid ones, were basically all used up, and the powdered ones were completely soaked through and no longer usable.
Nicole: Today was just a warning
Nicole sent a WhatsApp message to her.
Stayed for two minutes.
Just before the two–minute mark, it was withdrawn again.
This way, it could ensure that Bella could see, but without leaving any evidence.
But after the last incident, Bella became more cautious.
As soon as she
e received the WhatsApp message, she took a screenshot.
She sneered and sent the screenshot to Nicole.
This time, Nicole had been silent for a long e time.
Bella really wanted to laugh.
Did Nicole really think her tricks could succeed over and over again while she would stay still and not fight back?
Nicole underestimated her too much
After about ten minutes, Nicole replied.
Nicole: What do you mean?
Bella: It didn’t mean anything, just a warning.
After saying this, she turned off her phone.
Whether she withdrew or not, it doesn’t matter.
She also didn’t want to care about what would happen after Jeffrey saw it
From the day she made up her mind to leave, she should no longer have any expectations of him.
The next morning during breakfast, Malia noticed that Bella didn’t look well and asked with concern, “Bella, did you not sleep last night? Why do you look so pale?”
Bella made a sound of “Hmm“: “Didn’t sleep well, but it’s okay, just need a few days of rest.”
Malia said, “Yes, you need to take good care of yourself these days. You will be busy with Jeffrey’s wedding ”
Bella looked up and said, “Did they set a date for their wedding?”
“Yeah, it’s next weekend, didn’t Jeffrey tell you? This guy used to tell you about every little thing before, but now he doesn’t say anything about such a big thing like getting married, really.”
Next weekend
Bella looked at the calendar.
That day happened to be the day she left.
At this moment, Jeffrey and Nicole came out of the bedroom.
Nicole greeted Bella with a cheerful smile, as if nothing had happened. “Bella, I have already discussed with Jeffrey, and you will be the chief photographer for our wedding. You must make sure to capture me looking good.”
Bella refused directly, “I had something to do that day and couldn’t go.”
Nicole pouted and said, “Are you still angry about what happened yesterday? I apologize to you, I’m sorry. If you still can’t calm down, 1, I will kneel down and apologize to you.”
She lowered herself slightly and was about to kneel down
Jeffrey grabbed Nicole’s arm and said, “She didn’t deserve you to kneel down for her.”
Malla saw the situation and helped to defuse it: “Nicole, you don’t have to be like this. Bella usually treasures those films of hers, so
she might be a little angry, but not to the extent of kneeling down.”
Nicole said with a sense of grievance, “I just felt like I couldn’t do anything right, I’m really sorry, Bella.”
Jeffrey comforted her, “Just be more careful in the future. Let’s eat first, weren’t you just complaining about being hungry?”
Nicole smiled and stuck out her tongue, saying, “But isn’t it because of you? If you hadn’t bothered me this morning, how could I have been tired and hungry?”
“Okay, it’s my f fault. Let’s sit down and have a meal first.”
Jeffrey helped her pull out the chair, served Nicole well, and personally helped her put on the napkin.
After tidying her up, she sat down next to Nicole.
He spread jam on the bread slices while saying, “Bella, my wedding is next weekend. I have postponed everything, so please come and be our wedding photographer. It will be a fulfillment of our sibling bond of over twenty years.”
The doorbell suddenly rang
The servant went to open the door, but there was a stranger standing outside.
“May I ask who you are looking for?”
The person who came was a middle–aged woman who looked very plain. She smiled and said, “Hello, is Miss Bella here? I am from a charity organization. She contacted me and said that she wants to donate a batch of clothes to the impoverished people in the mountains. We agreed to come and collect them today.”
Bella immediately stood up and said, “I am Bella Arnold. I have already tidied up my clothes. Please wait a moment.”
Bella went upstairs and packed all her clothes into several large bags, which she then handed over to the middle–aged woman.
The middle–aged woman is very grateful: “Thank you for Ms. Amold’s kindness. Recently, the weather has turned cold, and many girls
in the mountains do not have enough clothes to survive the winter. With these clothes, it can help a lot of people.”
