Chapter 17
Jeffrey looked at her incredulously, his lips moving as he tried to say something, but the police didn’t give him a chance.

Bella stood indifferently until she confirmed that Jeffrey had been taken away by the police for questioning and could no longer bother her. Then she made a phone call to Liam, saying, “Can you come pick me up now?”
“Where are you? I’m coming right now,” Liam didn’t ask why, he just quickly came over.
Bella stood alone by the side of the street, her whole being appearing thin and fragile, as if a gust of wind could blow her away.
She saw him coming and asked softly, “Is Mr. Weber okay?”
“He’s fine, just a little confused,” Liam reassured her. “Don’t worry, I have already explained it to him.”
Bella nodded, “Okay.”
Liam hesitated to speak, but he didn’t ask her why she became sadder until he accompanied her back home and poured a cup of hot tea for her to hold in her hands, then he asked with concern, “Is your brother regretting it?”
He was just gentle, not dull or foolish. It is not usual for siblings to argue to such an extent over their sister’s emotional issues.
Bella nodded, “But I didn’t regret it.”
She raised her gaze and stared at Liam, her determined eyes showing no trace of reluctance as she added, “From now on, there are only two options between him and me: siblings or strangers. Let’s see what he chooses.”
The past is the past, what she wanted was a fresh start.
Jeffrey was interrogated at the police station for most of the day until his assistant provided the documents as a guarantee, and he regained his freedom, breathing in the fresh air outside,
The assistant noticed that he was in a bad mood, and after completing all of this, he consciously diminished his sense of presence.
Unfortunately, Nicole happened to arrive at this critical moment. As soon as she saw him, she tearfully rushed over.
“Jeffrey, you have to help me! I was really pushed to the limit by those people, and now I can only hide overseas, but I didn’t expect

She spoke pitifully, as if she wouldn’t survive if Jeffrey didn’t intervene.

“Jeffrey, what’s wrong with you?” she shivered instinctively, and then cautiously approached him.
Jeffrey sneered, “Did you have the same expression when you messaged Bella before?”
As soon as these words were spoken, Nicole stood there in shock. She forced a smile and said, “What Information did you say? Wasn’t Bella missing? How am I supposed to contact her?”
It’s impossible, Bella should have given up on Jeffrey by now!
Jeffrey didn’t bother to say anything more, he simply raised his hand and displayed the phone screen in front of her.

The surroundings were completely silent, to the point where even the sound of breathing could hardly be heard.
Jeffrey’s hand, holding the phone, trembled incessantly as he interrogated Nicole from a superior position, “Did you force Bella to go
abroad?”
The previously overlooked clues connected at this moment, and the truth was about to be revealed.
Nicole looked at Jeffrey, whose attitude had made a 180–degree change in front of her, and said that it was not true that she was not afraid, but she still couldn’t bear to give up this cash cow and softened her voice, trying to act coquettish.
“Jeffrey, I always liked her, how could I have bullied her?”
The voice became lower and lower until it could no longer be heard, as Nicole dared not continue speaking after seeing Jeffrey’s icy expression.

Jeffrey felt extreme disgust towards her, and simply turned away indifferently without looking back
Just at that moment, the servant back home in the country also called, he answered the phone with his back to Nicole and asked, “What’s the matter?”
The servant came to report the progress of the investigation to him: “Mr. Castro, the professional you arranged to restore the surveillance has completed the work and sent the video. You guessed it right, someone did indeed provoke Miss Bella.”
Veins popped up on the back of Jeffrey’s hand as he asked, “Who is it?”
