Chapter 3
Malcolm was indeed furious; “Valerie, this was Ashley’s personal effort to apologize to you! Why are you so despicable?”
This is not an apology to me, it is as if they are afraid that I am not angry enough.
I ignored him and laughed out loud while looking at the Banjo my best friend shared on my phone.
My indifference sharply contrasted with his frustration,

She pouted and said, “Malcolm, aren’t you hot wearing this outfit?”
In just a short ten–minute journey, this was already the third time she mentioned his clothes.
I opened my eyes and finally noticed that there was another coat inside Malcolm’s overcoat.
It was obvious that Ashley and I were wearing matching outfits.
I suddenly remembered that I used to buy couple outfits and matching rings in the past.
Malcolm, however, never wore it and even secretly threw away the clothes, claiming he couldn’t find them. I didn’t want to make things difficult for him, so I never brought it up again.
But obviously, he was not unwilling to wear it, it was just that I was not deserving
I pulled the corners of my mouth and continued to close my eyes.
Malcolm quickly glanced at me and breathed a sigh of relief when he realized I hadn’t noticed.
