Chapter 4 Go Ahead And Call The Police
Shane staggered, nearly falling to the floor after being slapped.
He was completely stunned.
Yvonne had always been gentle and peaceful towards him, looking at him with eyes full of admiration.
So how could she hit the man she loved the most?
“Shane!”
Tricia’s voice trembled with anger. “Yvonne, how could you hit your husband! He’s supported you for three years! Are you trying to rebel?!”
In Tricia’s mind, Yvonne had always been well–behaved, attentive to Shane, and obedient to her.
But why did Yvonne suddenly seem like a different person?
Shane’s eyes turned red. Like a enraged beast, he clenched his fists and rushed towards Yvonne.
“My mother was right, I’ve spoiled you too much.”
Today, he would teach Yvonne a lesson!
Yvonne laughed and calmly took a step back.
At the same time, Nadine reached out and stopped Shane. Within a second, two men in black suits also rushed over, grabbing Shane on either side.
Tricia was also held back by bodyguards, screaming and wailing as if she had lost her family.
Shane struggled violently. “Yvonne, are you out of your mind? Restricting our freedom is illegal!”
Yvonne squeezed her fingers, which were numb from slapping. “Go ahead and call the police.”
She shifted her gaze from Shane’s ugly display and looked towards the master bedroom.
Nadine got it immediately.
She nodded at Yvonne and said to Shane with a smile, “Our moving company has been entrusted by the house–owner to do some work on this house. It might get a little rough, so bear with it.”
With that, Yvonne strode out of the living room.
“Nadine, I’ll leave the rest to you.”
Nadine nodded excitedly, “Okay!”
“Yvonne, stop right there!”
“Yvonne, you can’t leave! We’re going to call the police and have you arrested!”
Despite their wailing and crying, Yvonne didn’t look back.
It was raining outside.
After exiting the elevator, Yvonne took off her gloves and stepped out of the entrance hall. A bodyguard stepped forward to hold an umbrella for
her.
She walked out, surrounded by bodyguards.
Raindrops tapped on the umbrella fabric as she made her third call of the night.
“Withdraw the money from Craig Group.”
“What about you and Mr. Craig…” The person on the other end didn’t understand.
Without elaborating, Yvonne said, “Notify the others. If Shane closes his eyes for even a minute tonight, you guys will be hold accountable.”
“Yes…”
Fourth call.
“Shane’s stepfather isn’t at retirement age and doesn’t have a job. Find out where the money he receives every month comes from.” She instructed in a deep voice, “Once you find out, don’t tell me. Just report it wherever it needs to be reported.”
Then, she made the fifth and sixth calls.
For each call, she only spoke a sentence or two, not negotiating, only notifying.
Each word was like a bullet sentencing the Craig family to death.
After all the calls were finished, Yvonne arrived at a red Ferrari, and a bodyguard opened the door for her.
She put away her phone and sat inside sideways.
The door closed, and the commotion from the Craig family was already far behind her.
At 11:30 that night.
After returning to the villa, Yvonne took a bath.

The bathroom was filled with steam.
She leaned against the bath pillow and looked at the ceiling. Her black hair fell naturally, and the rising mist curled up from her face, making her face look particularly exquisite.
Her body was relaxed, but her mind was constantly occupied.
Three years ago, her father, Harold Burton, had a serious car accident and suffered brain injuries. At that time, she found the best experts, but after consultation, she only got a dilemma–inducing result.
If they operated, there was a 70% chance of death, a 25% chance of paralysis, and a 5% chance of survival.
Without surgery, Harold would die within ten hours with 100% certainty.
Time didn’t allow Yvonne to hesitate for long.
She decided to take the risk and gamble on that 5% chance of survival.
But Harold seemed to know that his body was failing. His eyes pleaded with her not to agree to the surgery. Even if he only had a few hours of life/
left, he wanted to see the world and be with her.
Yvonne knew what Harold was worried about.
To put his mind at ease for the surgery, she decisively contacted Shane, who was still struggling with his startup, and offered him five million dollars and a move–in–ready mansion on the condition that he marry her.
That was the first time Shane had met her.
But she had been paying attention to Shane for a long time.
