Terrence’s lips were so close, his breath warm against the tip of my nose.
“You.. your lips look very kissable.”
Before I could stop myself, I leaned in, my cold lips brushing lightly against the corner of his mouth.
Just a fleeting touch.
The music, the noise, the crowd–all of it faded into nothingness.
All I could hear was the deafening sound of my own heartbeat.

Before I could respond, a sudden force lifted me off the ground–I was in Terrence’s arms, carried effortlessly in a bridal hold.
He strode confidently through the bar, past the private booths.

As we passed one of them, a familiar voice reached my ears.
Bruce.
No matter how many years had passed, his voice was etched into my bones.
Even in the chaos of the bar, I could pick it out instantly.
Terrence seemed to notice something too and deliberately stopped at the door.
“I heard Ysabelle really sold that script. Bruce, do you want to…”
Through the glass, I could see Bruce lounging lazily on the sofa.
“No need. If it actually gets produced, I won’t even have to ask–Ysabelle will definitely fight for me to be the male
lead.”
Someone next to him hesitated, then spoke, “But today, didn’t she-”
Before he could finish, Bruce cut him off. “Today was just another one of her tricks to get my attention.”
“She never learns. I’ve seen it all before.”
“As long as I say a few sweet words, she’ll be glued to me again like a little puppy.”
He pulled out a card. “Tomorrow, go buy that jewelry set Gia likes. Send the freebies to Ysabelle–she’ll be over
the moon.”
“A woman that no one wants is just like a floating weed–without roots, without worth.”
“Let’s go,” I muttered as I listened to the entire conversation, expressionless.
Maybe the old Ysabelle would’ve been heartbroken, but now I felt nothing.
Terrence raised a brow, amusement flickering in his eyes.
His lips curled slightly, as if pleased with my reaction.
Inside the car, Terrence leaned in, fastening my seatbelt.
The space between us shrank again, his shadow enveloping me.
The air turned heavy with something unspoken.
His dark eyes locked onto mine, sharp and unreadable.
“You… I…”
I clenched my sweaty palms, my nerves betraying me.
“Haven’t remembered yet?” Terrence’s voice was deep, magnetic.
Remember? Did we know each other? But I had no recollection.
As if reading my thoughts, he smirked.
“No rush. We have plenty of time.”
Then, he tilted his head down, his hand gripping the back of my head firmly.
His lips found mine, tracing, exploring, claiming.
Maybe it was the alcohol, but my mind went blank.
My heart pounded wildly, his presence overwhelming.
Faint, fragmented images flickered in my mind–memories just out of reach.
But they drowned beneath his kiss.
Looking at Terrence, who was leagues above Bruce in every way, I made up my mind.
My hands slid around his neck, shifting from passive to assertive.
Who said I had to be the one at a disadvantage?
The next few days were a blur of endless work.

A production company had taken interest in my script, and pre–production was in full swing.
When I walked into the director’s office, script revisions in hand, I hadn’t expected to see Bruce and Gianna.
Bruce, who had been visibly tense–probably from his audition–relaxed the moment he saw me.
His expression was smug, as if everything was going according to plan.
“Haven’t you blocked and deleted me? What, playing hard to get now?”
“Ysabelle, you really have no backbone. Couldn’t even last a few days before running back to me?”
After what happened that night, I had erased every trace of him from my life.
