Chapter 2
The only reason I knew that girl’s birthday-
was because she’s my cousin, Anna.
Seven years ago, back in college,
she was Dashiell’s first love.
Then she went overseas for grad school,
and they broke up.
Less than six months after she left,
Dashiell confessed he had feelings for me.
At first, Anna was a shadow I couldn’t shake.
But over time,
I truly believed Dashiell had moved on and loved me for real.
Anna had stayed abroad all those years.
No contact with Dashiell. Nothing.
Eventually, I almost forgot she even existed.
And now, she shows up out of nowhere-
just to blow my entire world apart.
I glanced at the timestamps on those wedding photos and videos.
They were from over two months ago.
All his best buddies were there, smiling in the footage.
So I was the only one in the dark.
Still dreaming about forever with a man
who had already married someone else.
What a joke.
