Then Jill changed into a tight revealing dress, slipped on her high heels and strutted out the door.
As soon as I heard the elevator door shut close, I got up and followed. I also hailed a taxi so she did not get suspicious and trailed behind her.
Jill went straight to a vending machine in the corner. After pressing a specific combination on the machine, it shifted aside. Turned out there was a bar inside! I copied her action and went in.”
The arrangement in the bar was so special and there were a lot of people there. I had never been to a place like this, so I got lost as soon as I entered.
After wandering around for what felt like an eternity, I finally spotted Jill. She was drinking in the corner booth. She was leaning intimately against a tall strong muscular man and touching his face with familiarity.”
The man was actually the very same man in the garage? Could it be he intentionally parked my parking space every time so that he could be the first to know that I was back?
The humiliation of being cheated on filled my mind. Though anger boiled inside me, I forced myself to stay calm and walked inside. “Honey, I think Maxwell is starting to suspect something,” she said, “He’s been acting really strange lately!”
Then she added, “This is all the damn neighbor’s fault. How dare she contact him to complain and be nosy about other people’s businesses? This made you jump from the window and break your leg. I’m sorry.”
The man smiled and smiled dotingly. “Don’t worry. If worse comes to worst, we can break up for a while. Besides, what can he do? He’s just a broke little doctor drowning in debt. He doesn’t have the means to fight me.””
“You are so beautiful,” he added. “It’s really unfair to you to stay with him for the rest of your life.”
The man kissed her and Jill gave him a seductive smile.
Jill said, “I hate him. If not for revenge, I would’ve divorced him ages ago.”
“If he hadn’t botched that surgery back then,” she continued, “I wouldn’t have nearly been crippled for life! Everything I suffered was because of him. Do you think he took care of me out of love? He was just trying to clear his conscience!“}
“Honey, you’re so amazing,” she added. “This is all thanks to you for helping me bribe the rehabilitation center’s staff, so we can split the money he gave over in half and I’ve even saved up a little bit of money now.“}]
The man laughed with her. Then he said, “Baby, you’re brilliant. You’ve come up with such a perfect plan!”
Their wicked laughter reverberated through the private room, but my ears were deaf to it. As I stood there in a daze in the doorway, my body completely frozen in place.”
All the music and cheers turned into jeering laughter in my ears in that instant and they drilled into my brain like a needle.
I had never suspected that Jill thought I was that kind of person.
It was a few years ago when I first met Jill. It was also the first time I became a regular employee.
She had been rushed over to the hospital after a devasting car accident. When she was carried over on the stretcher, her legs were mangled and needed immediate surgery.!!
