Chapter 60
Her dad was fuming now. “You gave birth in the classroom and now everyone is laughing at us. The whole town’s talking about how messed up your life is! You’ve made us look ridiculous!“N
He grabbed her by the collar, lifting her up as his face turned bright red. “We worked our asses off to send you to college and this is how you repay us? Why did we even bother having you? Should’ve just…”
Yolanda’s face drained of color, fear taking over. “Dad, please, don’t get worked up. The baby is Miles Larkin’s. You know him, right? He’s the heir to the Larkin Group, the richest family in Harken City!”
But her dad wasn’t calming down. “So now you’re still lying? Who the hell is this Miles Larkin? You think he’s gonna marry you? Stop dreaming!”
“I’m not lying!” Yolanda shot back, her voice defensive. “Once I’m out of here, I’ll take the baby to him and he’ll marry me. I’ll be married into money and then you two can live the good life.”
Her dad wasn’t buying it. “You think this is bad enough? Now you want us to be part of your mess? I don’t have a daughter like you. You’re not my daughter anymore!”
Yolanda snapped, her anger flaring up. “Fine, break up with me! I don’t need you guys. Being your daughter is a joke anyway. When I marry into money, don’t come crawling back, begging me to recognize you!“}]
Her dad, furious, undid his belt and raised it. Yolanda fought back, not backing down. Her mom tried to stop him, but he just pushed her away.M
Yolanda struggled and her dad, shaking with rage, yelled,

Yolanda glared at him. “You’re not my father anymore!” she yelled, her voice full of defiance.
Her dad clutched his chest, shaking with anger. “You… you’re gonna be the death of me!“}
Then, all of a sudden, he leaned back and collapsed onto the floor.
Her mom gasped and rushed to call for help. A doctor and a nurse came running in and quickly lifted him onto a stretcher, wheeling him away for emergency treatment.
Yolanda didn’t ever blink. “Well, that’s what he gets.”
I stared at her in disbelief. She caught my look and snapped, “What?

“So what if I gave birth in a classroom? That kid is the Larkin Family’s eldest grandson. Who dares to laugh at me?”
“You really think Mr. Larkin is gonna marry you just because of the baby?” I asked. “From what I’ve heard, the Larkins don’t just let anyone into their family. You need at least a graduate degree to even be considered.“}]
She rolled her eyes. “It’s just a graduate degree. I could’ve had one if you hadn’t taken my spot.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Taken it? Don’t flatter yourself. I got that spot on my own. You just didn’t qualify.”
She huffed. “Whatever. I let you have it. If I really wanted it, I’d go get it now. Anyway, I’m taking the baby to see Mr. Larkin tomorrow. You’re coming with me.“/
The next day, Yolanda marched into the entrance of a high–end club Miles was known to visit, the baby in her arms. She tried to walk right in but was blocked by a security guard. “Sorry, ma’am. Members only.“D
She glared at him. “Do you know who I am? I’m the future daughter–in–law of the Larkin Family. And this baby? He’s their grandson!“}
