Chapter 80
“Then where do you expect me to take him?” Yolanda snapped, bouncing the baby a little too hard.
“Our dorm is for studying, not raising kids,” Xyla fired back. “How am I supposed to concentrate when your baby’s screaming every night?”
Yolanda rolled her eyes. “That’s your issue, not mine. My son is the future heir of the Larkin family. You should be grateful you even get to breathe the same air as him. Most people would never get that chance.“>
Xyla looked like she was about to explode. “You’ve totally lost it. Just send him to your parents or something. This is college, not a nursery.“}
“I don’t have parents, alright? This s is the only place he can stay. If you’ve got a problem, you can leave.” Yolanda didn’t budge.
I quickly stepped in before things got worse. “Look, let’s not go there. The DNA results will be out in a few days. Once we know the truth, someone will come take the baby. Just chill until then.“}]
Xyla exhaled through her nose, clearly trying to hold it together. “Fine. I’ll wait. But this better not drag on
Three days later, Yolanda got the call. The results were ready.
She was practically buzzing with excitement. “Mr. Larkin asked me to meet him! He must’ve found out the truth and wants to make it official. I bet he’s gonna propose. You’re coming with me, I want you to see how things turn around for me.“}]
She changed into her best outfit, fixed her hair, added a little extra blush, totally convinced her fairy tale was about to come true.
But when we walked into the club, that fairy tale crumbled real fast.
One of the bodyguards walked straight up to her and tossed a file at her feet. “Go ahead and read it. You tried to pass off some random kid as Mr. Larkin’s? You must be outta your damn mind.”
Yolanda stared at the papers like she couldn’t make sense of the words. Her lips moved, but nothing came out for a second. Then she blurted, “No, no way! He’s definitely the father. This… this must be rigged!“}
The bodyguard didn’t ever blink. “We had the test done through our people. It’s airtight. You tried to scam Mr. Larkin with some bastard kid. Don’t act shocked now“>
Mr. Larkin, I swear I’m telling the truth! This kid’s yours! Ten months
Yolanda was so scared, her legs gave out. “This
can’t be haar?”
ago, we spent two whole days together in that hotel. Don’t you
The bodyguard scoffed. “Mr. Larkin has been with more women than he can count. If he had to remember every one of them, he’d be
exhausted.”0
Miles didn’t even bother looking at her. “Teach her a lesson.”
Two bodyguards moved in quickly, pinning Yolanda down. They grabbed the baby from her arms and threw him aside like he was
nothing.”
“Put her hand on the table, Miles ordered, his voice cold. “I’m taking one of your fingers today. Consider it a lesson.”
Yolanda’s face went pale as she panicked. “No, I didn’t mean to lie. I thought this kid was yours!“}]
“It’s clear you’re lying,” the bodyguard shot back. “And if you think you can fool Mr. Larkin with this bastard, you’re wrong.”
Yolanda started pointing at me. “It was her! She brought me here! She told me the kid was yours! She said you’d marry me! You need to punish her, not me!“}
Miles looked at me, his gaze cold. “You brought her here?”
I raised my hands in defense. “I just came along. She said she was pregnant with your kid and that you were going to marry her, so I came to see for myself.“D
Miles raised an eyebrow at Yolanda. “Do I look like an idiot to you?”
Without saying another word. He just turned to the bodyguards. “Take two of her fingers.”
Yolanda screamed, her voice shrill. “No, please—!“}
The bodyguard didn’t hesitate. He grabbed her hand and with one quick chop, took off her little finger and ring finger.
Yolanda screamed again, fainting from the pain. The bodyguards splashed a bucket of cold water on her to wake her up.
Take your kid and get the hell out of here,” one of the guards said, “If we see you again, you won’t have any fingers left.”
Yolanda stumbled out of the club, clutching her baby, completely covered in dust. As soon as she was outside, she turned to me, her voice desperate. “Please, take me to the hospital…”
I stared at her, feeling no sympathy at all. “You just tried to get me in trouble and begged him to cut off my fingers and now you want my help?‘ I shook my head. “Yolanda, just do us all a favor and get lost.“W
