With two days left until their departure, Hillary and Julian were out when they passed a boba tea shop. Hillary asked Julian to pull over. A few minutes later, she returned to the car with two cups of boba tea.
Julian looked surprised. “You stopped just to buy bubble tea, seriously? He didn’t take a sip, his expression filled with impatience “I don’t like sweet things.”
Maybe because she was leaving soon, Hillary felt unusually calm. “Julian, have you ever bought milk tea for
someone before?”
The man was engrossed in his phone, casually replying to messages Without looking up, he answered
indifferently, “I don’t remember”
Seeing his attitude, Hillary lowered her eyes and spoke softly. “Julian, both our families are hosting a banquet
tomorrow. When you arrive, I’ll make sure you get what you want.”
Julian looked up, meeting her eyes for a moment. He considered his words and said coldly, “I understand, Hillary, as long as you behave, the partnership between our families will remain intact. I’ll draft a new contract. There’s no
need for us to get a divorce.”
It was just a banquet. As long as she didn’t target Willow again afterward, he would be nicer to her. Little did he
know that his words sent a jolt through Hillary’s heart.
She never imagined that Julian didn’t intend to divorce her, that he wanted to be married to her while also being
Willow. Her heart had long turned cold. Maybe she had never truly understood this man at all.
On the day of the banquet, everyone was present. Hillary and Julian also made an appearance. During the event, she received a friend request from Willow. The accompanying message read, “Guess what? Do you think he’ll leave you to come find me?”
Hillary’s heart tightened. She accepted the request and calmly asked, “What do you want?”
Willow didn’t reply, but a moment later, someone called Julian. His expression instantly turned panicked and he looked at Hillary anxiously. “Willow’s heart condition has relapsed. I need to see her. I’ll be back soon.
Hillary grabbed his arm. She wanted to tell him that Willow was faking it, but after a moment of restraint, she spoke gently instead. “Today is an important banquet for both families. You promised me you’d stay.”
Julian gave her a cold look. “Willow is hurt. Between a banquet and a life, you know which is more important.”
“Hillary, I’ll make it up to you next time.” With that, he shook off Hillary’s hand and left without a second glance.
Watching his retreating figure, Hillary felt numb. After a long silence, she lowered her gaze and sent Willow a message. “You win.”
Her husband’s abrupt departure enraged both families. The Cooks even blamed Hillary for it. Julian’s mother glared at her, furious. “As his wife, you can’t even keep your husband’s attention. What use are you?”
Hillary’s mother trembled with anger. “So, this is how you treat my daughter!”
Hillary’s father was simply unheard of and sneered with a gloomy face. “Your son is older than my daughter, yet he acts like a spoiled child. He couldn’t even stay for a formal banquet? My daughter is not your family’s servant.”
As the argument escalated, Hillary received a message from Willow. It was a picture of Julian and Willow lying in the same bed. Willow was clearly naked under the covers. Hillary’s throat tightened. So much for “coming back
soon“-he had gone straight to her bed.
Hillary silently put down her phone. She had initially considered the reputations of both families, but it seemed there was no need to anymore. She could manage without Julian.
No Longer Your Sabenture Love My Husband
They had signed the divorce agreement back when they got married. She remembered Julian saying he was afraid she wouldn’t agree to a divorce, that he wanted to have something to fall back on. It seemed that “something” was now coming in handy.
With everyone watching, she turned to her parents and spoke briefly. Then, she stepped onto the
stage and made a public announcement. “With so many of you here today, it’s the perfect time to share some news. Julian and I are officially divorced. From now on, the Joneses and the Cooks have nothing to do with each other.”
The divorce of two prestigious families sent shockwaves across the nation. The news went viral, making headlines overnight. Many had bet on their divorce and countless people became rich overnight because of it.
After saying her goodbyes to her parents, Hillary boarded a plane overseas. Her mother’s company and relatives were there, waiting for her. Before the plane took off, she blocked Julian and Willow from all her accounts. Then, she logged into a new one.
