As Hillary stepped out of the car and into the estate, the warm glow of the lights chased away the chill that clung
to her from the long day at work.
Dozens of cats lounged lazily around the courtyard. The moment they saw her, they sprang up and rushed toward her, meowing incessantly. Her expression softened as she looked at them.
A housekeeper approached, smiling as she greeted the lady. “Miss, you’re back.”
Hillary returned the smile as she responded softly. She removed her coat and handed it to the housekeeper, then strode towards the main hall, However, her thoughts strayed to Julian, which she promptly brushed away. The events of three years ago were etched in her memory. So, she wouldn’t repeat the same mistakes.
Still, while she had moved on, Julian clearly hadn’t. Somehow, he had obtained her phone number.
When she received his friend request, she assumed it was from a business partner and accepted it. The next second, a video popped up on her screen, Frowning in confusion, Hillary clicked on it. The background was completely dark. Then, a familiar figure emerged on the screen–Julian. He wore a loose robe, his exposed skin pale but well–defined
She had no idea what he was up to. Before she could figure it out, she noticed a faint blush creeping onto his sharp, handsome face. His breathing was slightly uneven, his expression tinged with nervousness and hesitation
Just as Hillary wondered what he was up to, Julian suddenly composed himself. He lifted his gaze, looking directly into the camera as if peering through it at her. His voice was husky, filled with deep emotion. “Hillary, I know you’ve always cared about my relationship with Willow, but I can tell you unequivocally that I never touched a hair on
her head.”
Julian pursed his lips after he said the last sentence. His expression was a bit young and Hillary felt a little bored when he saw this. Three years ago, she might have cared, but now she was indifferent. It was irrelevant to her who
Julian was with.
She was about to exit the video when he spoke again as if he had predicted her reaction. His dark eyes burned with emotion, his voice deep and urgent. “Hillary, don’t turn it off.”
Hillary’s finger paused. The next moment, she saw Julian’s fingers clench the fabric of his robe. The once aloof, self–possessed man was now disrobing himself before the camera. His eyes reddened, his features handsome and profound. He looked vulnerable, almost defenseless.
She was dumbfounded when Julian spoke slowly and deliberately “Hillary, I’m clean. I haven’t touched anyone.
Believe me.”
A sharp pang pierced her heart. She abruptly flipped her phone over, incredulous. Had it really been only four years? How could the once arrogant, complacent man have become like this? She quickly exited the chat, only to see that Julian had sent multiple other videos. A wave of frustration surged within her. She wanted to leave, but by accident, she tapped on another one
On the screen, Julian’s pale face was tinged with red. His eyes, usually indifferent, were now clouded with
emotion. He stared into the camera, his breath coming in soft gasps. “Hillary, Hillary. Just trust me one more time. I
only desire you. Isn’t that enough to prove my love?”
His words, laced with shame and longing, were designed to stir something profound within her. However, Hillary remained indifferent. Lowering her gaze, she calmly exited the video. Then, she typed a message. “Julian, if you’re in heat, go find a woman. Stop bothering me.”
Without a second thought, she deleted his contact Did he want to seduce her with his looks? Too bad that trick
no longer worked on her. After that, Julian didn’t contact her again. Just when she thought he had finally given up, he reappeared.
