So, she replied: I’m officially back! Thank you all for your support over the years! The past years have been rough, but the storm has finally cleared and the future loca bright

As Emery read through the comments, the darkness in her heart seemed to lifa line.
That crushing weight like a heavy storm cloud over her, was suddenly pierced by these words of concern, letting in a sliver of light.
She made a silent vow to keep writing, not just for the readers who had always supported her, but for herself.
For the girl who once had big dreams, only to have reality strike her down mercilessly.
Taking a deep breath, Emery refocused, sat down at her desk, and started typing again.
There were three unfinished books in total, and she estimated that she would need to write at least ten thousand words a day to keep up.
Just thinking about it was a bit overwhelming
However, the adored her readers too much to let them down. So she wrote

The Magellan family was at the top of the social hierarchy in Qutbridge. Even the four great families could only look up to them.
She hadn’t interacted with him before, but she had certainly heard of him.
He had been admitted to a prestigious Azanian university at fifteen, and after graduating, he hadn’t taken over the family business. Instead, he founded Magnus Corporation on his own.
In just a few years, he had turned it into an industry leader.
They said he had immense power, was incredibly well–connected, and always got things done swiftly and decisively.
Emery had only seen him at a few Xenakis family banquets and had never spoken to him.
But one thing was certain–the man was devastatingly handsome.
Rumors said women who pursued him met terrible fates. Some even claimed he despised women altogether, with whispers. that he might be gay.
But the way he treated her that night didn’t quite fit that narrative.
At the very least, he hadn’t shown any hatred toward her. He hadn’t even gotten angry.
In fact, he had forced her to sign a one–year contract, making her his girlfriend. She wondered if he was trying to cover up the rumors about being gay.
Or maybe his family was pressuring him to get married, and he needed someone to stall for time.
Emery shook her head, deciding not to waste another thought on that sly fox. In the end, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement–she wasn’t losing anything.
Besides, the man was handsome. More importantly, being with him would absolutely infuriate Howard and the Langford family!
The more she thought about it, the more delighted she became.
A boyfriend dropping into her lap from the sky? Who cared if he was gay? It didn’t affect her. It wasn’t like they were actually
in love.
Letting such a prime opportunity go to waste would be a crime!
Knock, knock, knock! Someone knocked on the door abruptly.
“Emery, come down for dinner!” Winona’s bright, cheerful voice rang through the door.
“Got it,” Emery replied sofily.
She got up slowly, put on a long–sleeved loungewear set, and dragged herself to the door before heading downstairs.
Hy
y the time she reached the dining room, the entire family was already seated at the table.
Eleanor wore a warm, motherly smile as she enthusiastically placed food on Howard’s plate.
“Here, Howard, try this fish!“–
The sight would undoubtedly convince any To an outsider, she would have seemed like Howard’s real mother
Gary. Nicholas. Bradley, and Winona had already started eating, showing no sign that her presence or absence mattered.
Winona had probably called her down just to maintain her image as the considerate and understanding sister.

Gary’s expression darkened slightly, but he merely said, “Now that you’re here, sit down and cat.”
Emery’s gaze dimmed, but she chose silence.
She scooped a spoonful of pasta into her bowl and glanced over the table, feeling a wave of helplessness,

Every dish was something Winona loved. The only thing she could eat–baked pork tenderloin–was placed at the farthest end of the table, completely out of her reach.
“Emery, have some shrimp. Lorraine made it just right!” Winona chirped as she dropped a shrimp into Emery’s bowl.
Emery glanced at the shrimp, then at Winona, before quietly pushing it aside and taking a bite of pasta.
She lifted her fork but hesitated, not knowing which dish to reach for.
The entire table was covered in seafood. For her, it was an untouchable feast.
“What’s your problem, Emery? Winona gave you food, and you’re ignoring it on purpose! Are you doing this just to be difficult? Bradley sneered again.
Emery slowly looked up at him, finding his face strangely unfamiliar.
A bitter laugh echoed in her heart. Did the whole family forget that I’m allergic to seafood? Is it a case of collective amnesia, or is it deliberate?
Without hesitation, she set down her fork and said calmly. “Sorry, I’m full.”
With that, she stood up and headed upstairs, not looking back.
