Chapter 45
His face flushed red as he grinned foolishly at her retreating back. “She’s actually shy!”
That was… Too cute for words.
Preston turned to the cashier with a big smile. “One of each of those cakes! And a bubble tea too!”
The cashier asked, “What flavor of bubble tea?”
Preston answered without hesitation, “All the best–selling ones!”
Xavier, standing with the other boys nearby, observed Preston’s giddy behavior as he bought the treats.
A dark, brooding look crossed his face as he sighed in resignation. “If Regina’s a demon, then Preston must be her her number–one minion.”
The others sighed in unison. “Our sweet but clueless Prince is lost in it.”
Meanwhile, Leonardo hid in a corner, eavesdropping with a deep frown.
To him, Regina was playing these guys with her looks on purpose.
Leonardo scoffed. Regina always had that stuck–up, icy vibe going, but behind closed doors, she was this sneaky…
He had to confront her.
Fired up, Leonardo stormed toward her hospital room–only to stop short when he saw Roy step in fast and scoop Regina up in his arms while no one else was around.
Leonardo stared, stunned.
Roy actually went for it and picked her up.
Regina was surprised too.
She peeked up at Roy, caught off guard.
Roy held her like it was nothing, his face blank as he said, “You just had surgery. You shouldn’t be walking around. Pop those stitches, and your mom’s stuck with another bill to fix you up.”
Regina opened her mouth to argue, but when he mentioned that, she backed off. “Sorry for the hassle.”
She had never cared about her injuries before.
Roy gave her a surprised glance but said nothing. After placing her back on the hospital bed, he stepped out.
A short while later, he returned with a box of sliced fruit.
He grinned and asked, “The doctor said you can eat something now. Want to try?”
Regina looked at the neatly arranged, colorful slices in his hand. “What’s that?”
Roy was quite confused, “It’s fruit. Don’t tell me you’ve never had fruit before?”
Leaning against the bed, she glanced at him bashfully.
Her wide, innocent eyes was filled with confusion.
No, she hadn’t.
Roy was stunned for a moment.
He adjusted the bedside table, laid out the fruit slices, and opened the box for her. “Try some.”
The fruit looked juicy and sweet.
Swallowing nervously, she picked up a fork, chose a red slice, and took a bite. Her eyes widened instantly. When Preston and Steve returned to the room, they found Roy sitting by the bed, watching Regina eat.

Preston gawked in disbelief and stormed over just as Regina exclaimed in delight:
It’s sweet?”
Everyone froze.
The faint aroma of fruit lingered on her lips as she added, “It tastes like fresh, pink, damp chunk of dirt!”
Roy couldn’t help but crack up. “That’s… one way to put it. It’s watermelon.”
Her face lit up even more. “So that’s what it’s called–watermelon!”
A soft smile tugged at Roy’s lips, his eyes unconsciously filled with affection. “Do you like it?”
She took another bite of watermelon, her eyes sparkling with joy, nodding enthusiastically. “I love it!”
“Ding

Roy’s smile deepened.
Preston rushed over. “Don’t just eat watermelon. Try the others–I know all of them! I can teach you too!”
Hearing his voice, Roy’s expression darkened as he glanced at him disdainfully.
Preston snatched the fork from Regina’s hand, stabbed a piece of mango, and held it up to her mouth. “Here, try this.”
Regina frowned. “I can eat it myself.”
Preston threw a quick glance at Roy and insisted, “No, I’ll feed you!”
Roy snorted playfully.
Regina hesitated for a moment, then opened her mouth to eat the mango. Her eyes widened in surprise!
Preston saw her reaction and momentarily forgot his annoyance, eagerly asking, “Is it good?”
She nodded furiously. “What’s this called?”
Preston, beamed. “It’s mango.”
He glanced at Roy, his smile tightening into a scowl as he growled, “It’s my favorite mango. No one’s taking it from me!”
