Return of the Forsaken 61

Liam glanced teasingly at Julian. It’s rare for you to gossip, and you got caught. Guess there’s a price to pay for talking behind people’s backs. Let’s just keep our mouths shut next time, it’s embarrassing.”

ty to sever

Julian just frowned, he wished he could, but his relationship with Regina wasn’t that easy

After all, he had to keep an eye on this levelten host

And she’d only told half the story earlier, not who kidnapped her-

He had to find out

Julian strode off

Where are you going?Liam asked, hurrying to catch up

To find out who kidnapped her!Julian was serious. She’s a person of interest in Dainville now. I need to know who’s trying to get her!”

Liam bon

kept pace. But I thought you hated manipulation?”

Julian stopped, annoyed. She can be whatever she wanted; that’s her business. I can’t just ignore my job because she’s fake, can I?”

Besides,” he added, his tone sharp, I think I’ve seen her through. I’ll be wary if she’s lying. You think I’ll let a girl eight years younger than me run circles around me”

Liam paused, seeing his point

They were surrounded by insincere people trying to suck up to them

They were veterans; no chance would they be fooled by a young girl

Stephen Hayes, who’d been distracted, suddenly spoke up. Her wound’s opened

Liam and Julian were confused

Stephen’s expression became anxious, and he rushed downstairs. Regin’s wound must have opened. That’s why she was walking so strangely!”

Liam and Julian exchanged puzzled looks

Her wound opened, and she was still talking to them like nothing had happened

Regina, wearing a tank top, lleaned against the bed, moving slowly

She carefully peeled off the gauze wrapped around her waist, revealing two bloody, gaping wounds

She’d aggravated them when Victor kidnapped her

Luckily, years of fighting in underground boxing pits had built up her pain capacity

Regina clenched a Tshirt between her teeth, grabbed an alcohol swap from the bedside table, and pressed it gently against her wounds

A burning pain surged through her, more intense than before

She bit down hard on the shirt, not making a sound, but tears welled up in her eyes

Taking a deep breath, she decisively pressed the alcohol onto the wounds

Regina trembled with pain, a whimper escaping her throat. She glanced impatiently at the door

The three Hayes brothers were standing in the hallway, staring at her

Her room was dark, lit only by the hallway light

They must have arrived unnoticed, standing at the door with expressions of pity and shock, their eyes fixed on her bloody wounds through the narrow glass pane

Chapter 61

Regina froze

The light from the hallway fell diagonally across her, her dark hair obscuring her slender shoulders, her red lips clamped onto the white Tshirt, her shoulders rising and falling with each painful breath

She looked like a black cat, hidden in the shadows, licking her wounds, now irritated by the intrusion of these three

Regina was starting to get angry

She hated being watched when she was hurt

And these three had the nerve to sneak up on her and watch; who knows how long they’d been there

It was like they were deliberately pushing her buttons

And they knew she was being fake, yet they still came to her

That was so annoying

Regina pulled the Tshirt from her mouth. Come in,” she said, her voice hoarse with pain

The three brothers exchanged glances but didn’t move

Either come in or get out, Regina rasped

Stephen hesitated, then pushed the door open, looking awkward. Sorry, I didn’t realize you were treating your wounds your

He pursed his lips in annoyance

Honestly. Stephen always kept his composure, no matter the situation, he’d never been so embarrassed

But he always seemed to stumble around Regina

First, it was him gossiping and getting caught

Now, it was coming to see her and finding her tending her wounds

Stephen thought she would have called a nurse

So, he was stunned when he saw her
