Chapter 62
Regina tossed the T–shirt aside. Feeling like she’d disinfected the wounds enough, she grabbed the gauze, preparing to wrap them. “It’s three in the morning. I’m not going to bother anyone with overtime; I can handle it myself”
The brothers were taken aback.
Handle it herself?
Liam frowned and stepped forward, disapproving of her actions, “How old are you, to be so careless and you get a fever?”
Julian’s face was also grim.
Regina wrapped her wound. “Don’t all old men love to lecture?” she quipped.
Liam looked taken aback.
Regina glared at him defiantly. “I’ll do what I want. You can’t tell me what to do.”
Liam was speechless.
Julian’s face hardened. He snatched the bandage. “Stephen, patch her up. I’ll keep her still,”
He grabbed Regina’s arm.
Stephen jumped in eagerly. “Got it!”
Regina’s eyes widened. “What are you doing?”“”
Not to be outdone, Liam, still smarting from her earlier jab, grabbed her other arm.
Regina’s face paled. “Let go!”
She jerked, pulling at the wound, and hit back a cry of pain.
Blood welled up.
Liam, seeing this, pressed down on her wound. “Easy there, firecracker. You’re making it worse. Stay still
Regina, still defiant, struggled, but she couldn’t budge..
She looked at Julian în disbelief.
Julian held her effortlessly, a smirk playing on his lips. “Surprised you can’t break free!”
Regina glared at him, silent.
yourself? What if the wound gets infected.
Julian, enjoying her frustration, continued, “Cyberware arm, this one of mine. It can lift over three hundred pounds. How much do you weigh? Think you can take me?”
Regina was funding
Damn it! It’s because I’m injured, she screamed inside.
She retorted, “If I was at full strength, with my sword, I could give you a run for your money?
“You mean your thermal sword?” Julian raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Funny you should mention that. My hand’s also enhanced, I could map that thing like a twig. Want to see!”
Regina’s eyes flashed. You wouldn’t dare!”
Julián chuckled. “Weren’t you just saying
ing you’d play us with finesse? What happened to that Cat got your tongue now that you know you can’t win?”
Regina paused, realizing her frustration had gotten the better of her.
He’s right. I got cocky, she thought to herself.
She had taken down Brad and Clive earlier, then those thugs in the afternoon.

She’d started to feel invincible.
But the brothers had held back at school, their cybernetics deactivated.
And the thugs were bottom feeders with cheap, second–hand, or salvaged cyberwares,
It had been easy pickings.
Julian was a different story. He was experienced, wealthy, and undoubtedly equipped with top–of–the–line enhancements,
He outmatched her in every way.
Fighting now would be pointless.
Regina forced herself to relax, calculating her next move. T’m not going to let them get the best of me”
Julian and Liam, seeing her stillness, exchanged surprised glances. “Giving up already!”
Stephen glanced at her, a smile playing on his lips. “Good girl. If you’d kept struggling, I might have gotten upset.
Humiliated, Regina turned to look out the window. “Since you’re so eager to help, go ahead. Enjoy yourselves.”
The three brothers exchanged knowing smiles,
Stephen gently cleaned her wound. “This might sting a little.”
Regina tensed, closing her eyes.
The brothers‘ smiles faltered as they took in the severity of her injury.
Stephen suddenly nervous, turned on the TV. “Why don’t you watch something to take your mind off it!”
The TV flickered to life, revealing the three brothers in an interview
They stared at the screen, dumbfounded.
Regina’s attention was instantly diverted.
She watched the impeccably dressed brothers, relaxed and charming on the plush couch. A stark contrast to the overbearing figures surrounding
hver now
The interviewer scoiled. “Three such accomplished brothers Everyone’s curious, what are you like in everyday life? What do you do for fun?” Regina scoffed. “They gossip, watch people get patched up, and force people to get patched up.”
Liam, Julian, and Stephen were stunned into silence.
Regina
continued, her tone shifting. But deep down, they’re good guys.
The bruthers looked up, surprised,
Regina, keeping her eyes on the screen, laid it on thick. “Really handsome, kind–hearted, geile good guys”
