Chapter 63
The ward was spacious, but Regina’s words somehow made it feel oddly confined and unsettling.
Stephen froze for a moment. “What you just said… was that for real, or just a line?”
Regina arched an eyebrow.
Naturally, it was just a line. She’d only said it out of courtesy.
“What on earth was he expecting?”
Regina relaxed, wanting to lean on the wall but somehow ending up leaning against Liam and Julian’s shoulders.
She glanced around and found Stephen and Liam dropped their gazes on her intently, clearly waiting for her response.
The three of them were unmistakably brothers, though their personalities differed, the anticipation in their eyes was perfectly aligned.
They didn’t show it, but it was clear they weren’t as indifferent as they seemed since their gazes were intense, almost scorching.
So, taking a wild guess, they must really care about the answer.
Regina found it amusing how they claimed to hate pretentious people, yet a little flattery had them grinning like kids on Christmas morning
Regina turned her attention back to the TV.
The three men on TV, in their sharp tailored suits, looked like living mannequins in a storefront, flawlessly handsome, as if their features had been painted with a master’s brush
Since the clients came knocking on her door, she figured there was no harm in letting them in.
With a practiced ease, she replied, “Of course, it’s sincere
The three paused briefly, their gazes burning with even greater intensity.
Regina feigned indifference and said with a touch of envy, “Back when I was living in the slums, I saw you on TV and thought you were completely out of reach
She mimicked the way people from the slums used to rave about them, with her voices filled with awe, “You’re so tall, so handsome, and so rich How could someone so perfect even exist? Meeting you would be a dream come true.”
“Eut now…” she trailed off.
Their hearts tightened unconsciously as they waited to hear what she’d say next.
Regina let out a sly chuckle. “Well, look at that, you’re right here next to me now.”
They held their breadı, and a curious warmth washing over them at her words.
The atmosphere instantly shifted, the awkwardness melting into a quiet, charged tension.
As if driven by an
yan unseen force, Julian asked, “So, how does it feel?”
He leaned in slightly and the space between them seemed to shrink with every second, his tone carrying an almost professional precision that hinted at interrogation.
“You used to see us on TV, he continued, his gaze never wavering. “Now we’re here, right by your side. How does that make you feel?”
The question caught the attention of the other two as well.
A faint, unreadable sinile tugging at Regina lips, though it never quite reached her eyes.
Honestly, she didn’t feel much of anything-
“After all, they were just three human beings. If they could exist on a screen, why not here uest to her?
“What’s so special about it if they were next to her?
Of course, that wasn’t the answer they were expecting.

She glanced back at Julian, her tone laced with curiosity. “So tell me, what do you think I feel when on–screen meets reality?”
Julian drew
rew in a sharp breath, but instead of answering her question, he looked away, his lashes fluttering in a faint, almost panicked hesitation.
Regina shifted her gaze to Liam, who immediately averted his eyes, fidgeting awkwardly without uttering a word.
“What’s with the silence? she wondered, glancing between them.
The trio had all lowered their heads, deliberately avoiding her gaze.
She couldn’t quite figure out what was going on, and exhaustion crept over her.
She was so tired, tired of the people in this circle, tired of fighting, getting hurt, and even being dragged into kidnappings in the middle of the night. It was all too much.
Stephen suppressed the turmoil brewing inside him and shifted his attention to her wounds. “You’ve been through enough these past few days. Can’t you take better care of yourself instead of throwing punches every chance you get?”
Regina didn’t respond, and Stephen frowned in frustration. “I’m talking to you, are you even….
He froze, stunned by her lack of reaction.
Beside L
him, Julian and Liam also fell silent when their gazes fixed on Regina leaning between them.
Unbelievable, she had actually fallen asleep.
