The Hayes brothers stopped in their tracks and looked at Steve.
Roy scowled and glared at the three.
Preston also puffed up in anger and stared daggers at them.

Steve’s face darkened instantly as he picked up his phone and said. “So you guys are the one gaining the points.”
Julian was momentarily stunned. When he saw the numbers on the screen, his expression grew complicated. “So, you were monitoring her too.”
Steve felt his heart sank as things were indeed as he expected.
Preston flared up. We were more than just monitoring her! Five of those points are from me! I planned to increase them gradually today, but you all sneaked into her ward in the middle of the night to raise her favorability!”
Julian was taken aback. “Sneaked in?””
Stephen laughed and teased Preston, “We didn’t sneak in to raise her favorability. We walked in openly and confidently
Preston fumed. “What did you do? How did she gain 20 points because of you all?!”
Stephen flicked his hair dramatically and sighed. “Oh, I didn’t do much. I just relied on my charm to earn the 20 points.
In that split second, Liam interjected, “You talk as if you got those twenty points all by yourself”
Stephen was at a loss for words.
Then, Liam looked back at Preston and said, “How we carned the points is our secret. If you want to know, why don’t you tell us how you gained yours finu?”
Preston’s expression changed, and he said angrily, I’m not trading secrets with you!”

Then, be shoved past them irritably. “Move aside, I’m going in to see Regina.
Liam blocked his way, not letting him in. “She just ate and is now asleep. She didn’t rest well last night, so let her have a good rest”
“Who gave her food?” asked Preston.

Preston frowned and said, “So some of those points were for the food? Did she enjoy it that much”
Liam’s expression softened unconsciously, “Yes, she enjoyed in very much.”
Preston froze. His heart swelled with a dull ache, and he lowered his head.
“So, without me… She’s happy just the same.”
Those words quieted the atmosphere instantly.
None of them spoke for a moment.
Steve suppressed his emotions and looked at Julian. “You’re not leaving just yet. Let’s have a chat next door about why you all were in Regina’s
ward”
Julian didn’t refuse. “Fine. Let’s exchange information then. I have plenty of questions too,” he said with a deep gaze.
The group entered the lounge and shut the door behind them.
The moment they disappeared into the room, a woman and Hugh stormed out of the elevator, flanked by two girls with varied expressions

Hugh was seething with rage.
This morning, when he called Clive to inquire about the situation, he learned that Clive had been injured last night while rescuing Regina.
Apparently, some people had kidnapped Regina, and his precious son had ended up with stomach bleeding from the beating and was now hospitalized.
How could that wretched girl be worth such sacrifices?
Hugh was infuriated. “Ever since she came back, Melinda is now in prison, and my wife is in the ICU. Even now my son is injured because of her, I never should’ve wanted a third child”“
The woman beside him shot him a disdainful look and said, “What’s there to reflect on? It’s her fault, not yours. Besides, you’re her father, so act like one!”
Hugh retorted. Td love to, but Scarlett is protecting her. If I so much as slap her, Scarlett would beat me to death! I don’t have a combat prosthesis; so how could I beat her?”
The woman’s face darkened, “Well, I do As long as I’m here, I won’t let anyone push you around,”
Hugh’s expression softened slightly as he turned to her. “I don’t want you to fight for my sake. We’re not young anymore. Plus, with our status, fighting is beneath us”
The woman’s eyes flared “My poor nephew got stomach bleeding because of that brat. As her aunt, I’m sure I have the right to teach her a lesson Her mother is still in the ICU for God knows how long. If no one is going to teach her manners, she’ll soon ruin everyone’s lives!”
Hugh pinched his brow in frustration. “But technically, Regina is now under Scarlett’s household and isn’t i

anymore.”
“So what? The woman’s voice rose. Scarlett is just a woman who is infertile. That’s your child, so we can do anything we want with her. Who cares about Scarlent”
Then, she rolled up her sleeves and marched toward Regina’s ward. “No one bullies my family without consequences!”
The short–haired girl following them tried to pull them back. “Mom, Uncle, don’t do this! Clive chose to save Regina of his own accord. She was kidnapped in the middle of the night, and as her brother, it’s only natural he’d protect her.”
The woman turned to glare at her. “Harley, if you keep speaking up for Regina, you can go back home! How dare you not care about your brother?”
Another girl with glasses sneered and said, “Harley, don’t act like a traitor protecting that girl from the slums. If you can’t tell what’s right or wrong, then shut up,”
Harley was shocked “Isn’t you all who are mistaken? Regina has already suffered enough being swapped into a life of poverty. As her family, we should treat her kindly and guide her, not bully her!
The woman ignored her and looked at the gul with glasses. Zack, go fetch a bucket of water.”
Zack went to the janitor’s room, filled a bucket with ice water, and carried it back.
Harley tried to stop them. Don’t do this. If you have something to say, talk it out. Why do you need that?”
