In that instant, Regina understood why she had been attacked.
All emotions seemed to strip away as realization dawned.
Then, she looked at the blade that was sword lying on the ground.
In the next room, Julian suddenly perked up. “Did you guys hear something?”
The soundproofing in the rest area was top–notch, but Julian seemed certain he’d caught the sound of a commotion

The men were bewildered by the sudden news. Then, they rushed out of the room without hesitation
Regina’s ward was on the VIP floor, where there were only a few VIP. Thus, other than a few medical staff on duty, there were no other passersby.
As Julian and Steve kicked open the locked door, they shw what was happening inside.
Leila was stepping on Regina’s bandaged stomach.
The white bandages had been completely soaked in blood, yet heila showed no signs of stopping as she continued to grind her heel down with force.
When Preston arrived at the scene, his mind went blank “What the hell are you doing?”
Leila’s expression changed drastically when she saw them. Then, she retrieved her foot and said, “Mr. Preston and Captain Hayes.”
She didn’t expect them to be here.
Julian and the others had a grim expression as they walked toward Leila angrily.
Just then, Regina, who had been lying on the ground, suddenly leapt up. Then, she slashed her blade toward Leila’s neck.
Leila reacted quickly and tried to avoid the attack. However, the blade still grazed through her throat.
Her breath hutched as she stared into Regina’s emotionless eyes in disbelief.

She looked pitiful, and her eyes were filled with fear as she stared at Regina.
Regina raised the blade high and aimed toward her head.
“No! Don’t kill me!” Leila screamed in terror.
In that split second, a hand suddenly appeared and grabbed the knife handle.
Regina’s eyes widened as she continued to glare at Leila, trying to wrench the blade free to strike
again!
Julian firmly gripped the blade, restraining her movements, “Regina, calm down! If you kill her now, you’ll be officially labeled a madwoman. You’ll
be executed!”
Hurting others could still be justified, but committing murder would seal her fate. She’d either be executed or locked away in an asylum for the rest of her life!
“Calm down!” Julian said anxiously.
Steve stood on her other side and grabbed her arm to stop her. “Think of President Sullivan, Regina. You’re her sole heir. You’ve come so far. Are you really going to let all your hard work go to waste?”
Regina’s eyes were blank and lifeless as she mechanically repeated her attempts to lift the blade.
Suddenly, she noticed something and looked toward Julian.
Julian was stunned.
In the blink of an eye, she kicked him away and swung the blade down toward his head.
