The news of Arthur and Jenny’s affair continued to escalate. Arthur did his best to suppress the news, but as soon as he did, other news about them would go viral.
Very quickly, the hospital and the medical school suspended him from work. Even Jenny was expelled from the institution.
Some hardworking netizens even discovered that Jenny had gotten her degree from some random college abroad. Hence, she wasn’t even qualified to become a special trainee at the medical school here.
I scrolled through the latest comments before looking up at Peter, who was leisurely enjoying a glass of wine.
“This netizen keeps coming up with new tea on the scandal. Could it be you, Mr. Sullivan?”
Peter casually set his wine glass down. “I became a better man after pursuing you for so many years. But he called me crazy! I’ll be holding a grudge against him for life.”
I couldn’t help but giggle. Peter clearly looked refined and handsome, yet he often spoke in a rough manner. No wonder I never found him to be serious when he pursued me back then.
Meanwhile, in Campbell Residence, the atmosphere in the living room was suffocating.
Arthur sat on the couch with a darkened expression. He kept tapping his fingers against the armrest. As for Jenny, she was curled up in a corner, staring at the floor intently.

“Arthur is only suspended from work. He’s still a capable doctor, so the hospital won’t actually fire him. Once things settle down, he can go back to work.”
