Chapter 28
Luciana stared intensely at Vivian before making up her mind and taking a big step forward. “Vivian, actually–”
But before she could say anything, a large force suddenly hit her from the side, followed by a clear female voice exclaiming.
When Luciana steadied herself, she could only see Monica standing in front of her with a cup of coffee in her hand. Coffee had splashed onto Monica’s hand, with most of it on her light pink lace blouse. The dark stain was very visible on it.
It was then that Luciana realized she had accidentally bumped into Monica when she stepped forward and spilled the coffee onto Monica’s clothes. Luciana immediately apologized, “I’m so sorry.”
Monica didn’t say anything but shot Luciana an arrogant glance. Wendy, who was beside Monica, took out some tissue paper from her bag to wipe the stain.
As she was wiping, Wendy intentionally said in a loud voice, “It’s over. The stain isn’t coming off. I remember this limited edition Miu Miu blouse cost you a few thousand dollars, and now, it’s ruined.”
Luciana froze. She was not sure what to do, so she could only grab some tissue paper and help to wipe off the stain.
Wendy slapped her hand away. “Don’t touch it. I bet you’ve never touched something as expensive as this. You should think about how to pay for the damage!”
Vivian couldn’t bear to see her best friend being bullied like this, especially since it was bitches like Monica and Wendy who were bullying
Luciana.
She was so mad that she put her hands on her hips and snapped, “Are you blind? Do you want me to give you some money to get your eyes fixed? We were standing here just fine when Monica came crashing into us.
“She’s the one who bumped into Luci and hurt her, and we didn’t even ask her for anything. Why would we compensate for her blouse?” Wendy panicked. “Shut up! You’re acting like a shrew. No wonder Nigel doesn’t like you!”
Wendy’s last sentence struck a nerve in Vivian as her eyes instantly turned red. “What nonsense are you talking about, you bitch!” More curious bystanders were starting to gather around them.
Luciana suddenly realized this was not a good place to discuss their topic, so she quickly pulled on Vivian and said, “Vivian, don’t mind them. Let’s go.”
“Why should we be the ones to leave? They’re the ones who should go!” Vivian refused.
At this moment, Monica, who hadn’t spoken a word since the beginning, spoke up while facing Luciana. “You’re the one who bumped into me. You don’t need to pay for my blouse since you don’t look like someone who could pay for it. But almost all of my coffee has spilled. Could you at jeast buy me another cup of coffee?
Monica’s tone was clearly one of disdain and contempt. She clearly didn’t take Luciana seriously.
Wendy added fuel to the fire by saying, “Momo, why don’t you let her go this time? A cup of coffee probably costs more than her whole outfit.” Luciana’s eyes welled up, but she stood her ground as she looked straight at Wendy. “You’re right. A cup of coffee is actually enough to buy the T–shirt I’m wearing right now. But it was my fault for bumping into you. So, tell me what you want, and I’ll get it to make up for it.”
As soon as those words were said, the bystanders around them started to chime in, and their discussion quickly turned one–sided. “Who would have thought Monica was this petty?”
“Yeah, that girl didn’t even do it on purpose. Why is Monica so intent on embarrassing her like that?”
“Say, her blouse doesn’t even look like it costs more than a thousand dollars. It doesn’t even look as good as the ten–dollar T–shirt the belle from the design department is wearing.”
Vivian was furious. “Why do we need to buy her a drink? We don’t need to spoil her! I say we give her a cup of hot water to wash down her fake sweet girl act!”
Just as she was done, a familiar male voice said, “She should pay for spilling someone’s drink.”
