Chapter 29
Thiago stood in the crowd with a black art bag on his back and his hands stuffed in his pockets. His posture was straight but carried a hint of relaxed nonchalance.
Hearing Thiago seemingly speak up for her, Monica lifted her eyes slightly. Her smile held a hint of enchantment. She said, “Thiago, I wasn’t planning on having her pay for the coffee.”
Vivian was practically about to explode with anger.
One second, Monica was all fire and fury over some spilled coffee, but now, she started playing the helpless victim. It was like she flipped a switch, turning her from a queen bee to a sad little wallflower.
How could a woman be this take? Just how on earth was Kevin educating his daughter?
Thiago’s sudden appearance shocked Luciana, making her panic a little. She was sure he had seen the scene of her being humiliated and the argument about paying for the spilled coffee.
By now, Luciana didn’t even have the time to worry about how Thiago would see her. Her mind was only filled with not dragging Vivian into the picture. She wanted to take care of everything so that she could leave with Vivian faster.
So, she said without hesitation, “I’ll go buy your coffee.”
Just as she finished speaking, she turned around, but Thiago reached out to grab her arm.
“You’re buying coffee as compensation? I think that’s a bit unfair,” Thiago said.
Luciana looked at him and not his dark gaze. There was even a hint of laughter in it. She thought it was fair for him to step up for Monica since she was his girlfriend. He would definitely support Monica under any circumstances.
“Then, what do you want me to do?” Luciana asked.
Thiago turned to Monica and said with a laid–back attitude, “There’s still some coffee left. Why don’t you pour it on Luciana? Then, you two will be even.”
His words caused chaos to erupt around them.
Looking at the drama, the students exchanged glances as they really hadn’t expected Thiago to say something like this. They speculated that maybe he had some kind of relationship with Monica or Luciana had offended him before.
Monica was keeping a neutral expression even though she was dying to laugh out loud with glee. She replied in a cutesy voice, “You don’t have to do this. If word gets out, they’ll say I’m picking on my junior.”
Vivian almost gagged at the sight of her little act.
Thiago simply said, “I’m telling you to pour it. Do you need me to roll out the red carpet for you?”
Monica now realized her earlier concern had been for nothing. Since Thiago had said so, she took a large step toward Luciana with the coffee in her hand. The corners of her lips were slightly lifted,
Lociana and Monica were about the same height, so Luciana stared straight into Monica’s eyes, which were filled with endless mockery.
She felt that she should’ve faced the facts by now. Since she had bumped into Monica, she would just let Monica pour the coffee over her and get it over it. After that, she could consider it square with Thiago.
Monica held up the coffee cup. A dark gleam flashed across her eyes, making her look cold and indifferent. She then flicked the cup toward
Luciana.
Just as Monica did this, Luciana closed her eyes in defeat as if she didn’t want to look at what would happen next. But suddenly, she felt a warm figure stand in front of her and protect her from the coffee. The familiar scent of pine shot up her nose.
The crowd of bystanders erupted into a burst of shouts at the same time.
Luciana’s eyes flew open, immediately landing on the coffee stain on Thiago’s white shirt.
Monica didn’t expect Thiago to stand in front of Luciana at the very last second. She was so shocked that she lost her grip on the coffee cup, causing it to fall to the ground.
Vivian covered her mouth in shock as she gasped. “Holy shit,”
