Chapter 78
“In the afternoon, there’ll be a group of reporters coming for an interview. Don’t stop them.”
The head of security hesitated. “But… we haven’t received any official notice. Should I call Mr. Helmes to confirm?”
“This is my brother’s instruction! He wants to use media pressure to force Fennel City to execute those criminals! Haven’t you seen how hard he’s been working to find the best doctors for my sister? Can you afford to take responsibility for ruining his plan?“&
Wiping sweat from his brow, the head of security could only smile nervously and say he didn’t dare disobey.
After Daisy left, he still tried calling my brother’s phone to confirm, but both his and Gerald’s phones were unreachable.}
It wasn’t until the reporters arrived with their equipment that he received another call from Daisy.”
“The reporters are here. Let them in now!“}
The head of security still looked hesitant. Daisy sneered and threatened coldly. “What? Are you not afraid I’ll report this to my brother if you mess things up? You know how much he loves my sister. When he finds out, can you even imagine how furious he’ll be?“}
Cold sweat broke out on the head of security’s forehead. Gritting his teeth, he finally waved his hand and gave the order to let the reporters through.
The video cut off there. Back in the hospital room, the head of security knelt on the floor, pleading.”
“Mr. Helmes, I really only let them in because I believed what Miss Daisy said! I had nothing to do with Miss Luna’s death, I swear!“}
My brother clutched the surveillance tablet tightly, his gaze bloodthirsty as he turned it on Daisy.}
“You vile woman! Why did you harm my sister? Speak!“}
Daisy turned pale with terror, her face twisted with fear as she whimpered pitifully, “Nick, I’m your sister too! Why do you only protect her? Before she came back five years ago, I was the only one you doted on!“}
“It’s all her fault! She stole your love and then betrayed you! She deserved everything that happened to her!“>
“Gerald, she nearly killed me just now and she cheated on you. Don’t you hate her even a little?“>
Seeing the murderous look in Nick’s eyes, Daisy hurriedly clutched onto Gerald, trying to stir him up.
But what she didn’t realize was that all the suffering and torment I endured was caused by these two standing before her.
And now that I was dead, how could they possibly tolerate anyone slandering me again?}
Gerald flung her hand away and gave her a harsh slap.
“I’ve said it before. Luna is not that kind of person. Don’t you dare slander her!“}
The system’s cold, mechanical voice rang cut once again.”
[Host, less than three days remain until the plot reset. Before that happens, you must take Luna’s body to be cremated.]}
My brother picked up my corpse, a renewed glimmer of hope lighting up his eyes.
“As long as the plot resets, my sister can come back, right?“}
“Yes! That must be it!” Gerald urged, his expression resolute. “Come on, let’s cremate her now. We’ll start over and this time, we won’t make the same mistake again!”
My brother cast a cold glance at the weeping Daisy nearby. All the previous tenderness and pity in his eyes were gone, replaced with chilling disgust.
“Keep an eye on her. Don’t let the doctors treat her wounds and don’t let her bleed out and die either. Until we return, she’s not allowed to leave this room! If anything happens, you’ll be held responsible!“}
The head of security responded repeatedly with “Yes, sir!” and immediately summoned over a dozen guards to completely seal off the hospital room, even the windows weren’t spared.”
Daisy cried and screamed, “Luna is already dead! Why won’t you accept reality? This is her fate! Your love was always meant for me alone! Nick, have you forgotten the promise you made to Mom and Dad before they died? You said you’d keep loving me, that you’d care for me like your own sister…”
“Shut up! You’re not worthy of being compared to my sister. Once I’ve handled Luna’s funeral, I’ll deal with you!”
