Winry had worn the dress that the Jaywalker family had prepared for Josephine the other day. However, in a fit of rage, Michael had torn it to shreds. He then demanded that the Sommer family fully compensate
for it.
“That won’t be necessary. You can leave now.” Michael’s lace was impassive. He picked up his phone from the office desk, having forgotten it when he left for the meeting carlier.
Two bodyguards burst in, and without uttering a word, hey grabbed Winry by the arms and dragged her
out.
Winry turned pale, overwhelmed with shock and a sense of injustice.
She had confidently assured Caiden that she would secure Jaywalker Group’s contract. To prepare, she meticulously dressed up for the day, wearing a low–cut tight dress to meet Michael However, to her surprise, she was dismissed before she could even utter few words.

Before Winry could finish her outcry, she was dragged out of the door.
A flicker of disgust flashed across Michael’s eyes. He instructed his assistant to open the window to disperse the overpowering scent of perfume.
He had a hidden ailment, which prevented him from being intimate with women. If he were, he would experience dizziness and nausea, his temper would become volatile, and in severe cases, he could even lose control and harm others…
The last time he ran into Josephine in the alley, he nearly killed her.
This was because, during a social gathering, a woman accompanying him for drinks sat on his lap, which immediately triggered his illness.
However, strangely, when he touched Josephine the previous night, he didn’t experience those symptoms.
At the thought of Josephine, his eyes darkened, and he immediately ordered the bodyguards, “Wait”
Winry was desperately clinging onto the door frame, refusing to leave. When she heard that, her face lit up with surprise and joy, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
“Mr. Jaywalker, I was wrong about what happened last time.
“Do you know this?” Michael stretched his hand out toward her.
Winry was momentarily stunned. Upon seeing the words on the small piece of paper in his hand, she blurted out, “VITA? It’s a high–end women’s fashion brand from Mariglade. The clothes are really. gorgeous.”
Michael withdrew his hand.
He had taken note of the brand of the worn–out dress Josephine was wearing by glancing at the label on

He glanced at Winry. “Do you like this brand?”

Winry’s eyes lit up immediately. “Of course. I’m very familiar with this brand’s clothing. But it’s really difficult to purchase. You have to pre–order their seasonal releases, and the prices are outrageously high. They-

to the store and pick out a few pieces for me. Put it on my tab.”
Michael turned around and walked out of the office.
Winry covered her mouth in excitement.
Did I hit the jackpot?
Mr. Jaywalker is actually going to buy me clothes?
Winry quickly pulled out her phone to call Eunice,
“Mom, I did it. Mr. Jaywalker has taken a liking to me!
My meticulous makeup application and choice of the most revealing dress, which nearly exposed my chest, were not in
DATA.
Eunice was also quite elated. She encouraged. “Try to get into bed with Michael before your father finds Josephine. Better yet, get pregnant with his child and snatch him away from Josephine. In a few days, your father is throwing a banquet. We’ll invite Mr. Jaywalker over and make your relationship public.”
Hearing that, Winry snapped back to reality.
No!
I can’t let anyone know that I’ve found Josephine!
Otherwise, if Dad sends Josephine to the Jaywalker residence, how am I going to end up in Michael’s bed?
Winry made up her mind, deciding to keep Josephine’s matters a secret.

She picked up her bag, excitedly dialed her best friend’s number, and invited her out for a shopping spree.
“Quianna, come with me to buy clothes at VITA. Mr. Jaywalker is paying. I’m about to become Mrs. Jaywalker!”
Michael strode out of his office, heading straight upstairs for a meeting.
He had a lot going on that day, so he didn’t have time to engage in idle chatter with Winry.
When he reached the doorway of the conference room he received a call from the bodyguard at his
mansion.
“Mr. Jaywalker, Mrs. Jaywalker packed her bags and insisted on leaving. It seems like her call to you earlier
didn’t on through”

Michael rubbed his temple in annoyance. “Why bothene with such trivial matters? If she wants to go out, just assign two bodyguards to accompany her! Also take her to the VITA store first. Let her pick out few clothes.”
Josephine doesn’t wear the clothes in the wardrobe, and I dont know her preferences. That’s why I asked Winry to help choose a few pieces.
Since Josephine wants to go out, she can just choose for herself
After finishing his phone call, Michael was about to step into the conference room when suddenly, something else crossed his mind. He turned around and asked his assistant, “What day is it today? Is it something important?”
The assistant looked bewildered as he quickly flipped through the schedule.
Michael had this nagging feeling that it was someone’s birthday today, but he just couldn’t remember whose.
The assistant reported, “Mr. Jaywalker, there’s nothing particularly special today, apart from work.
“Okay Michael nodded, his face solemn as he walked into the conference room.
Josephine strolled along the street, trailed by a burly bodyguard from the Jaywalker family.
Upon discovering that Michael was with Winry, she went back to her room to pack her things and leave. However, Jorvan, accompanied by the bodyguards, stopped her. He insisted on taking her out to buy
clothes.
She finally got out, but behind her trailed a black Porsche, in which sat Jorvan and a bodyguard.
Josephine couldn’t wrap her head around it. She was just a fool, yet Jorvan was watching her so closely.
What truly unsettled her was the sudden change in Jorvan’s behavior. Just yesterday, he had looked at her with suspicion. But earlier, his demeanor had changed entirely. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he murmured. “The Jaywalker family is finally having an heir.” No matter what, she had no intention of having a child with Michael.
Josephine paused at the entrance of a ladies‘ fashion store.
This was the brand of the dress Myla had bought for her.
It had been ten years since Myla passed away, but as Josephine’s gaze pierced through the glass display case, it was as if she could still see her, frail yet determined, ordering a birthday dress for her in the store.
Josephine’s eyes welled up with tears as she pushed open the door and stepped into the store.
As soon as the door was pushed open, familiar laughter echoed from within.
Josephine knitted her brows. Why do I always end up encountering the person I least want to see?
