Chapter 27M
Inciting cyberbullying only results in administrative punishment. That was why Zafrielle was quickly released. The morning after, I had just woken up when I got a call from her. Her voice sounded hysterical. “Evelyn, it’s you, isn’t it? I know it’s you!”
I asked impatiently, “What do you want? If there’s nothing else, I don’t have time to waste with you!”
“Of course, there’s something!” Zafrielle’s voice suddenly became sharp. “Do you know Joselyn? That little bitch looks just like you! Unbelievable! Even after losing you, Joshua managed to find someone who resembles you by at least seventy or eighty percent!”
Her words made my head spin. I cut her off. “What exactly are you trying to say? Just get to the point.“W
“Joselyn is with me now! But I can’t guarantee how long she’ll live! I’ll send you an address. If you want to save her, come here immediately!”
My mind went blank like I’d been electrocuted. I snapped back to reality and tried to ask more, but Zafrielle had already hung up. A text came through immediately after. The address was the rooftop of Joshua’s company.
A deep sense of dread filled my chest. Without hesitation, I grabbed my phone and bolted out the door. When I arrived, Zafrielle was standing on the edge of the rooftop, gripping little Mia’s hair. The seven–year–old girl was terrified, sobbing uncontrollably. The wind dried. her tears in streaks on her cheeks and her voice had gone hoarse from crying.
My palms broke into a cold sweat. “Zafrielle! Let her go! She’s just a child! What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Zafrielle laughed like a maniac when she saw me. Her long hair was blown by the wind, covering half of her face. She looked completely insane.%
“Evelyn, I knew it was you! You’re not dead at all! You lied to me, to Joshua, to everyone!” She was shaking with rage, gripping Mia so tightly that the child nearly slipped off the edge.
My heart clenched in fear. “Zafrielle, have you lost your mind?! Do you even know what you’re doing?! Mia is innocent! How could you do this to her?” I shouted desperately.}
Unfortunately, Zafrielle had lost her mind and couldn’t be reasoned with. Her eyes burned with hatred as she hissed, “So what? Why does she have to look so much like you?! You never loved Joshua, did you? You deserve to die and so does this little bitch!”
Mia wailed in terror. Zafrielle glared at her in annoyance and pushed her further toward the edge. Seeing that half of Mia’s foot was already hanging in the air, my heart clenched.}
“You all deserve to die! Just die already!” Zafrielle screamed, reaching out to push Mia off completely.”
