Sally rubbed her flushed checks. “Just this month alone, both the Fairchild family and Zayden have been after you to work with them. Quinny, you’re kind of amazing”
Quinn glanced at a new message on her phone, then nudged Sally toward her room. “What’s going on in that head of yours? Stop overthinking Go call Stanley. You two just started–go in a little.”
Sally’s whole face turned crimson. “Oh my god, I haven’t even said yes vel!”
Quinn laughed and shut the door behind her, heading downstairs.
Zayden stood in the shadows, his expression unreadable. The tip of his cigarette glowed red, and the smell of smoke clung to the night air.
“You can stop showing up. I’m not partnering with you.”
For the past week. Zayden had shown up like clockwork at eight every night, lingering for an hour before leaving
He wasn’t just anybody. He was Zayden Grant. It didn’t take long before paparazzi and gossiping neighbors started hanging around the once–quiet neighborhood.
Quinn crossed her arms, tucked her hands in her coat pockets, and looked up at him. “So this is the level Mr. Grant has stooped to now? Using cheap tricks?”
The paparazzi weren’t there for Zayden–they were digging into her. They wouldn’t dare touch him, but her life was fair
Zayden stubbed out his cigarette and tossed it into the trash can behind her.
The moonlight spilled over him, and the faint glow from the streetlamps gave him the look of someone straight out of a glossy magazine ad.
“If I didn’t would you have come down to see me?” He gave her a tired smile.

Quinn took the tablet and skimmed the proposal. It was airtight–dawless, even. The Grant family’s power and reach were the real deal With their backing, her plans could move a lot faster. But still….

She handed the tablet back to him.
Of course be knew Norman was her last line. The moment she realized the Fairchild family was connected to her grandfather’s illness, shed made up her mind–to save him, and to bring them down

She turned and ran back upstairs, leaving Zayden standing there like a fool.

The next morning, the Grant family’s stock dropped eight points.
Finn burst into Zayder’s office, breathless, clutching a stack of reports.

Zayden had expected it. He just hadn’t known how far Quinn would go.

Quinn wasn’t playing him. Her target had never changed–it was still the Fairchild family.
At that exact moment, Olive was throwing a fit
