Quinn lowered her eyes, feigning sadness. “Why do you think I left my comfortable life as the Fairchild family’s daughter and decided to strike out on my own? I was forced out by them.”
Shane stared into Quinn’s sincere gaze, hesitating briefly before asking, “Then what am I supposed to do?”
Quinn reached out to help him up, her tone earnest. “They’ve pushed me into a corner. We’re on the same boat now. Do something for me, and I’ll tell you exactly what you should do.”
Three days later.
The Fairchild family noticed Olive acting oddly in recent days. Usually obsessed with shopping, she’d suddenly changed. She stopped going to the company, seldom stayed at home, and started carrying her jewelry out.
This went on for two days, quieted down for a week, then returned to her usual shopping sprees.
Not long afterward, she sold more of her jewelry.
Olive’s mood grew increasingly unstable. She snapped at the smallest things, making all the Fairchild family servants afraid to approach her.
She only behaved gently when around Betty and Eugene.
Betty and Eugene had nearly forgotten the fake jewelry incident, and their affection toward Olive returned to normal.
But Olive was spending more and more money, making them grow increasingly suspicious.
Betty and Eugene had limited disposable funds, and Olive quickly used them up with various excuses.
Soon, Olive turned her sights onto Xavier.
Xavier had been fully aware of Olive’s strange behavior lately, but he didn’t confront her, choosing instead to wait until Olive came to him.
“Xavier, do you have money to spare lately?”
With loose hair and wearing a nightgown, Olive smiled sweetly as she approached Xavie.olding a glass of
milk.
Xavier lifted his gaze from his computer, glanced at her attire, and asked, “You’re really short on cash lately? You’ve already gotten plenty from Mom and Dad. Still not enough?”
Olive froze for a few seconds, quickly regaining her usual charming demeanor.
“Xavier, a friend of mine is seriously ill and asked to borrow money. You know I can’t stand seeing anyone close to me suffer, so I wanted to help her. Xavier, help your sister out, please?”
Olive was excellent at playing cute. Her voice softened sweetly as she set the milk beside Xavier.

He assumed that would satisfy Olive, but after taking the card, she didn’t leave. Instead of being happy, her expression darkened slightly.
“Xavier, a hundred thousand isn’t enough.”
Hearing this, Xavier frowned suspiciously. “Olive, you’ve already spent nearly ten million lately. What’s going on? Did something happen?”
Olive quickly shook her head, tightening her grip on the card. “No, it’s enough. I just miscalculated. Good night.”
Watching her hurry away, Xavier’s brow remained furrowed, unable to shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.
On the outskirts of town, in an inconspicuous café.
Olive appeared in front of Shane, wearing sunglasses and a mask, handing him a bag of money.
Shane was quite different from before, now decked out in designer clothes and wearing a genuine luxury watch. Picking up the bag, his expression soured instantly.
“That’s all? Didn’t I tell you to bring me another million?”
Olive, chest heaving with anger, slammed the table furiously. “Colton, have you lost your mind?! How much money have you demanded from me this month? Don’t think I’m actually afraid of you!”
Shane remained calm despite Olive’s outburst, casually crossing his legs.
“Fine, if you don’t want to pay to support me, I’ll just spread the news that you plotted against your grandfather. Let everyone see what a vicious woman you are!”
“You!” Olive swallowed her rage, knowing she couldn’t retaliate. “Shane, give me a little more time. You’re asking for too much–I really can’t get it right now.”
Eager to head to the gambling den for a few rounds that evening, Shane didn’t want to waste more time arguing. He took the money and stood up, eyeing Olive coldly before leaving.
“You’re really something, poisoning your own grandfather. And you hit my father too. You owe me compensation.”
With his back turned, Shane didn’t see Olive’s eyes burning with fury and malice, looking at him as if he were already dead.
One week later, Shane threatened Olive again using Norman’s incident, arranging another meeting.
Instead, Olive met with someone else, handing a bundle of money to a man with a knife scar on his face.
“Take care of him. I never want to see him again!”
Three days later.
Shane was found dead on the streets. According to the police, he’d owed a considerable gambling debt and made many enemies, who stabbed him repeatedly until he bled to death.
