Quinn had initially managed to brush things off with a few words, but later, she stopped answering his calls altogether.
Clearly, on that day, she had still called him Zayden.
Norman let out a deep sigh and shot him a glance. “Zayden, today you’re going to tell me everything. What did you do three years ago that made Quinn so angry that she can’t forgive you?”
Norman couldn’t figure it out. Norman couldn’t figure out what could have happened to make the easy- going Quinn so mad that she still hadn’t forgiven Zayden.
Leroy, standing nearby, reminded him, “Norman, it’s the thing I told you about before.”
Apparently, Norman didn’t believe it. “Is that really it? Nothing else?”
“Really. There’s nothing else.” Zayden nodded in confusion. “Actually, I have the same question, but Quinn refuses to talk to me.”
He also wanted to know if there was something he didn’t know that had upset Quinn.
Zayden was Norman’s choice for his granddaughter’s future husband, and after observing him, Norman still felt Zayden was the best match for Quinn.
For his granddaughter’s lifelong happiness, Norman was willing to put aside his pride.
Finally, without saying more, Norman left the Grant residence under the curious gaze of Leroy and Zayden.
Two days later, Quinn finished work as usual, and Norman was sitting by the entrance waiting for her. “Quinn, come here, I want to talk to you.”
Quinn obediently approached, though she felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
“I haven’t been idle these past few days. I taught Zayden a lesson to vent for you. If you’re still not satisfied, I’ll go scold him every day.”
Quinn’s bright eyes flickered. “Grandpa, why are you scolding him?”
“Isn’t it because he made you angry and you dislike him? He must’ve done something he shouldn’t have done to make you this mad.”
Hearing this, Quinn lowered her head helplessly, hesitating before managing to say a few wo hate him.”
“Quinn, I heard you. That night, you called out Zayden’s name.”
“I don’t
Quinn knew her grandpa was worried about her, but those things were in the past, and Zayden had helped her a lot. In a way, the two of them had settled things.
But when she told Norman this, Norman still seemed doubtful.

“Quinn, if you don’t deal with this, it will become a thorn in your heart. As time goes on, it’ll only get harder to remove. Those things Zayden said back then were just to save his pride in front of his friends. Don’t judge him so one–sidedly.”
Quinn’s voice grew smaller, her head almost touching the ground, “Grandpa, I know it’s not his fault. I’ll consider your suggestion and face this matter head–on.”
Norman looked at her with a sense of relief. “Whatever happened, just tell me. I’ll make sure to seek justice for you.”
Upon hearing this, Quinn looked at the dark circles under Norman’s eyes. Because of her issues, he hadn’t slept well for several nights.
After thinking it over, she decided not to tell Norman about that matter, not wanting to make him worry
more.
Norman glanced at the clock on the wall, took out a prepared outfit, and handed it to Quinn.
“It’s only seven o’clock. Young people should live like young people. Set work aside and clear your mind.”
Quinn looked at her grandfather’s sudden change in attitude, feeling confused, but not wanting to disappoint him. She changed into the princess dress he had given her, flashed him a smile, and left the house.
The moment she closed the door, Norman immediately made a phone call, saying quickly, “She’s downstairs. You’d better perform well!”
When Quinn saw Zayden downstairs, she finally understood Norman’s intention.
For the first time, Zayden seemed nervous, standing still and hesitant to approach.
Quinn took the initiative to walk up to him and casually asked, “Shall we go for a walk?”
“You want to walk with me?”
Zayden asked carefully, already taking two steps to block her path, afraid that Quinn might just turn around and leave.
“I don’t want to disappoint Grandpa, and I want to resolve my own feelings. So, from now on, we can try to get along.”
Quinn acted confidently. She didn’t want to keep making her grandfather worry about her.
Zayden nodded heavily, his face full of joy. “Alright.”
They walked to the moat, slowly crossing the bridge.
There was a bit of wind in the evening, and the river rippled in the breeze. There weren’t many people around, but those who were there laughed and chatted in small groups.
Quinn stared at the ground, and Zayden remained silent like a bystander, creating a slightly awkward atmosphere.

“Zayden, I have to explain something to you. It’s really important. Don’t hit me first…”
