Jasper looked at the girl next to Zayden, and the words in his mouth got stuck halfway, almost choking on his own saliva.
He glanced nervously at Quinn, who looked as graceful as a princess.
How is she anything like what Zayden described? She’s absolutely glowing.
“Hey, gorgeous, you must be Quinn, right?”
Quinn looked at the smiling man. “Yes, hello.”
In truth, Quinn was quite grateful for his sudden appearance. That way, she didn’t have to stay in the awkward situation any longer.
“Well, if you guys have something going on, I’ll take my leave.”
Zayden was nearly about to explode. He finally got a moment alone with Quinn, and now Jasper just had to ruin it.
“Hey, I…”
Jasper wanted to explain, but as he watched Quinn hurry off, he hadn’t expected her to move that fast.
Zayden could only watch helplessly as the girl he had longed for walked farther and farther away. Seeing Jasper next to him only made his anger rise.
“You’d better have a good reason.”
Zayden’s voice was as low as a thousand–year–old deep pond. If Jasper didn’t have a reason, he was going to drown in it.
Hearing that, Jasper just laughed awkwardly and asked, “You two weren’t on a date, were you?”
Zayden’s handsome face turned cold. He gave Jasper a side–eye and said, “What do you think?”
Jasper found it unbelievable. How big is Quinn’s heart to put up with someone like Zayden?
That day, after going back, Jasper dug into everything and rushed to find Zayden, ready to come clean.
But now, he didn’t really dare to say anything.
Zayden clearly cared a lot about Quinn. If he found out Jasper was behind everything, he’d obably tear him apart.
If Quinn’s willing to go on a date with Zayden, doesn’t that mean she’s already forgiven him?
Besides, it was because of something Zayden said that Jasper misunderstood and had someone to mess with Quinn. In the end, the root of it was still Zayden.
Thinking of it that way, Jasper felt a little less guilty toward Zayden.

As he muttered to himself in amazement, a voice suddenly came from beside him. “Mr. Hawkins, what’s with the outfit?”
Jasper turned at the sound and saw Stanley, wearing a company badge from Quinn’s business. He looked puzzled and studied the badge carefully.
“Aren’t you working for the Fairchild family? How come you’re at Quinn’s company?”
“Hey, the Fairchild family went bankrupt. They couldn’t afford to keep a lawyer like me, so I had to come work for Quinn. I mean, she’s a Fairchild too–it’s not that different.”
Jasper gave a dry laugh. Even someone as well–known as Stanley had become Quinn’s subordinate. How did Zayden ever think Quinn wasn’t as good as Olive?
Jasper hesitated for a few seconds, then decided to go meet Quinn.
“You’re that friend of Zayden from yesterday?”
Jasper gave a bootlicking smile and politely shook Quinn’s hand.
“Yes, I heard you completed a major project recently. I wonder if I might have the honor of working with you?”
As he spoke, he handed the proposal in his hands to Quinn.
Quinn glanced at him, took the folder, and opened it with some doubt. When she saw the potential profit, her pupils contracted.
She slammed the folder shut and pushed it back toward Jasper. “Mr. Hawkins, if you want to collaborate, show some sincerity. We can’t take on a project like this!”
Jasper had expected her to refuse. After all, having such a lucrative deal fall in your lap would make anyone suspicious–especially someone like Quinn.
“Ms. Fairchild, it’s because I’m sincere that I brought this project to you. Don’t worry, I’m not playing any tricks. I’ve seen your ability firsthand. I just want to achieve something myself–so my dad, who always complains I live off him, can finally look at me differently. Ms. Fairchild, please give this project serious consideration.”
As Jasper spoke, he carefully watched Quinn’s reaction.
Seeing that she was still focused on her documents, clearly not paying him much atten in a deeper voice. “Ms. Fairchild, this is a win–win for both of us, don’t you think?”
n, he spoke again
Hearing that, Quinn looked up and gave him a quick glance. This man had an unserious face and spoke in a carefree way, yet at this moment, he was surprisingly earnest.
“Maybe. I’m just worried…” Quinn had just started to speak when Jasper cut her off.
“I’m begging you. Work with me, please. I interrupted your date with Zayden yesterday, and I’m almost in tears from how badly he scolded me.”

So that’s what this is about.
Her expression turned calm. “If it’s just because of that, then there’s no need to throw away such a promising project…”
Jasper could tell–she had seen how good the proposal was.

He pressed on, patting his chest with flair. “Hey, it’s nothing. My family’s got a few projects like this. I picked this one for you because you’re outstanding. You’ve got the ability, I’ve got the projects–it’s a win–win, isn’t
it?”
