Chapter 66 A Shortcut
Quinn furrowed her brows and thought it over.
This project was truly tempting. And the company was in urgent need of something like it.
In the end, Quinn steeled herself and decided to take a gamble.
So she dropped her previous resistance and adopted a cooperative attitude toward Jasper.

When Stanley learned that Jasper had come to collaborate–and that it was one of the Hawkins family’s long–standing major projects–he grew suspicious.
After Quinn and Jasper finished their conversation, Stanley took advantage of a quiet moment and walked over to Jasper.
“Mr. Hawkins, are you up to something? Since when did you start appreciating talent like this?”
In the past, Jasper wouldn’t even go near the company’s projects. Just looking at a proposal would have driven him crazy.
Something out of the ordinary had to be hiding something strange.
Jasper gave a hearty laugh and took a step back. “People change. Just think of it as Zayden sending me on his behalf.”
With that, he didn’t give Stanley a chance to question him. He dashed off in the blink of an eye.
Stanley shook his head in confusion. In any case, the project Jasper brought was useful for the company, and with Quinn overseeing it, he decided not to interfere.
When Bernard found out that a project which should have gone through a public bidding process had ended up in Quinn’s small company’s hands, he was beyond anxious.
But when he discovered Jasper was behind it again, he picked up a cane and stormed into Jasper’s room in fury, ready to beat his legs.
“Dad, calm down! Listen to me, this time there’s definitely some benefit, just trust me!”
“Hey, Dad–don’t hit my face! Come on, Dad…”
Jasper scrambled like a mouse, thinking to himself that this price for compensation was way too high.
After landing the great project, Quinn worked with extra dedication, leading the whole team in an all–out effort to deliver the best proposal possible to the client.
But when she finally handed over the carefully prepared plan, the client’s face turned cold with disdain. “Typical of a small company. You really have the nerve to show up with this garbage?”
Quinn believed there weren’t any major issues with the plan, but she got completely torn apart.
Still, the client was the client. She held back her frustration and decided to revise the proposal from a new

Norman felt bad for her. When he found out the client was Dean Walker, he asked with a frown, “Quinn, isn’t Dean a member of the Grant family’s board? Do you know him?”
Quinn pulled her gaze away from the computer screen. “Why would I know him?”
Norman flicked her on the forehead.
“You really think you know everything, huh? If you don’t even understand your client’s preferences or habits, how can you accurately meet their needs and create a proposal they’ll consider perfect?”
Quinn paused to think. That really was her biggest problem at the moment. “Then should I search his details online?”
“Whatever’s online is barely anything. And only what others are allowed to know ends up there”
Quinn pressed her lips together. “Right. That’s true.”
“Well, a shortcut is right in front of you, and you insist on taking the hardest path. My silly girl.”
Norman sighed helplessly. “Zayden knows everything about the board members. Why don’t you ask him?”
He pointed her in the right direction.
Quinn had thought of it too, but her relationship with Zayden was a little awkward at the moment. Besides, she wasn’t even sure if Zayden knew this person, and she didn’t want to ask him out of the blue.
Still, for the sake of the project, Quinn decided to make a formal visit.
The next day, Quinn went to Grant Group.
Zayden was delighted to see her come to him for help on her own.
He looked through Quinn’s proposal first, and a flash of admiration appeared in his eyes.
He hadn’t expected Quinn to be so talented in finance. If she hadn’t gone missing as a child and grown up in an orphanage, she would’ve made an incredible impact in the financial world by now.
“Your proposal is great. It’s just a few issues with the details…” Zayden pointed out some minor problems and patiently explained them to her.
That alone helped Quinn immensely.
When he finished, he couldn’t help but praise her. “The flaws don’t hide the brillianc well.”

Quinn felt a little less frustrated.
She thought of another problem. “But why is Dean a shareholder in your company and still maintains over a decade of collaboration with the Hawkins family? This project doesn’t even have much to do with the Grant family.”
“Dean joined the board later. He’s too eager for quick success and came out of nowhere. Grandpa originally didn’t want him on the board at all, but this man is too capable. He forced his way in. Grandpa really doesn’t
And after receiving Zayden’s guidance, the new proposal Quinn presented finally met Dean’s expectations. He appreciated her a lot and even took the initiative to invite her to dinner.
