Dean and the bought shareholders exchanged a glance, and the few of them began putting on a show. They praised Dean, saying, “I didn’t expect this, Dean. You actually have this kind of ability. If you can really do what you say, we might just retire early.”
The implication was clear. They would just lie back and count their money,
Dean feigned modesty with a smile. “Oh, it’s all for the company’s benefit. As long as everyone’s satisfied, it’s good. Mr. Grant, what do you think?”
Zayden tilted his body slightly, his long fingers playing with a dark blue pen. He glanced at Dean like he was watching a clown, then lazily turned his gaze away.
Ignored by Zayden, Dean’s eyes turned cold with anger, and he prepared to retort, “Mr. Grant…
But Zayden suddenly stood up, interrupting Dean.
Then, in front of everyone’s eyes, he walked to Quinn, took her hand, and led her to a seat by the board of directors. He whispered in her ear, “Don’t be afraid. The bigger the scene, the better.”
Quinn paused for a moment, then obediently sat down.
She trusted that with Zayden’s methods, he wouldn’t easily let Dean have his way.
Zayden returned to his seat at the board.
Their gazes met in the air, and Zayden glanced at Dean, which immediately made Quinn understand.
At the long table, the other shareholders, seeing the predicted profits, began to get excited.
After all, everyone wanted money, but none of them expressed any opinions to Zayden.
Everyone was focused on Zayden at the head of the table, waiting for him to speak.
Zayden’s thunderous methods made them wary. When he first took the position at Leroy, any threat to Grant Group would be eliminated by him.
And Dean was personally opposed by Leroy, so they all knew very well what could and couldn’t be said.
The shareholders bought off by Dean also understood the situation, and they discussed it among themselves, eagerly dreaming about a bright future.
Other shareholders were swayed, and someone finally couldn’t help but speak up, “Mr. Grant, what do you think?”
As soon as the words were out, Quinn, who had been sitting behind Zayden, suddenly stood up and slowly walked to Dean’s back.
“I’m not part of the Grant family, nor am I an employee of Grant Group. If Dean truly could create profit for the company as he claims, why didn’t he do it earlier? Even if he could, how can you all trust someone who goes back on his word on projects?”

who disregards work like that. Are you all willing to bet he’ll actually deliver profits to Grant Group or benefit you all in the future?”
After she finished speaking, Quinn’s sharp gaze swept over every shareholder present, particularly those who seemed uncertain.
“This…”
One elderly man, with white hair, scoffed. “A small company like yours, with no level of skill, who knows what methods you used to secure this big project? Mr. Walker’s decision to pull out of the deal with you for the sake of the project was a timely and wise move.”
This old man was clearly in cahoots with Dean.
A vein in Quinn’s forehead twitched, but she managed to maintain a composed smile.
“If you had any doubts about our company, why didn’t you speak up earlier? Going back on your word is a huge taboo in business. If the outside world finds out, who would dare to collaborate with Mr. Walker and Grant Group? After all, a contract means nothing to Mr. Walker!”
With her words, the board erupted into discussions, voices rising in a wave.
A few wavering shareholders shifted their opinions and waved their hands. “That makes some sense. After all, Leroy himself is rejecting him.”
The elderly man who had spoken to Quinn darkened, pushing the proposal Dean had prepared aside.
Dean suddenly stood up, glaring furiously at Quinn.
“The issue between you and me is separate from what’s happening now! If you really want to cooperate with me, then leave and stay outside quietly. Security, what are you still standing there for? Get her out of here!”
Two security guards appeared at the door, but they didn’t move.
The atmosphere became awkward for a few seconds.
Suddenly, Zayden bent his finger and tapped the mahogany table. The dull sound echoed through the hall.
“Mr. Walker, you have quite a temper. Do you think this is some place where you can give orders?”
Seeing this, the security guards quietly retreated.
Everyone’s gaze shifted to Zayden.
Zayden picked up the documents, casually flipped through a few pages, then threw the table with a look of disgust, sneering.

“The benefits you bring are just combining the business you’ve worked on outside into the group. It may seem reasonable and tempting, but the way you break promises so easily makes it hard to trust someone like you. A person without morals, trust, or reason.”
Zayden’s voice wasn’t loud, but it was heavy and forceful.

unshaken in the face of danger.
Quinn had rarely seen him in his work mode, but she found him far more convincing and admirable than in everyday life.
