Chapter 8
“Are you crazy? The whole department is looking for you now. If you don’t go back at this time, aren’t you afraid of being accused of fleeing in fear of punishment? Taking the case file without authorization is already a violation of regulations. You can’t compound your mistakes!”
“The flight Ms. Woodward was on has already crashed, what difference can you make by rushing there now? She is already dead, she can’t come back! than the mistakes you made still have a chance to be rectified!”
“Ms. Woodward in heaven, if she saw you personally sending Keely to prison, she might even forgive you”
Colton also knew that the only chance to salvage the situation now was to get Keely to confess and plead guilty.
The news of Diya’s accident weighed on his heart like a huge rock.
He was unwilling to believe that she would just leave like that.
He had not fulfilled the promise he made to her.
He could not accept, nor would he ever allow it.
Hesitating for two seconds, he turned and walled towards the door, leaving only one sentence: “You help me hold back the news first, and I will go to the bureau chief to apologize after I find Diya!”
After getting on the car, he stepped on the gas pedal all the way towards the direction of the rescue team
Several times on the road, he almost ran a red light and caused an accident, but he didn’t care at all.
He also didn’t know why his emotions were out of control.
He only married Diya to keep an eye on her whereabouts.
It was Keely that he was willing to protect at all costs.
But it was at the moment when I heard the news of Diya’s accident that my emotions collapsed.
There was only one thought left in my mind.
He wanted to find Diye
Whether she was alive or dead.
He just wanted to find her and confess to her in front of her.
The rescue team was busy salvaging bodies.
Colton stood at the door waiting for eight hours
What could be waited for, but still missing.
The person in charge of the rescue said, “There were too many scattered bodies.”
In the past, there were cases where “bodies could not be found.”
He was only allowed to prepare for his wife’s funeral
Colton didn’t wait any longer.
Turned around and went to the hospital to check the surveillance footage.
On the way, Keely sent several messages urging
Ask him where he is.
He said his stomach was starting to hurt again.
He listened to the custom ringtone he had made for Keely.
Calton felt an unprecedented restlessness in his heart.
A car suddenly stopped by the roadside, and he quickly typed on the keyboard to reply to her, “If it hurts, call a doctor. You are in the hospital, can I care you?”
“Griffin is your husband, and the child in your belly is his. He should be the one by your side at this time. Don’t contact me unless necessary!
He turned off his phone and went into the hospital without looking back.
Despite the two–story gap, he never once went to see Keely in her hospital room.
After finding the surveillance, he stared fixedly at the weak and pale face of Diya on the screen.
Regretfully, he slapped himself in the face a few times.
