The Dragon Kings and The Prophecy
32- The Grand Council – Part 1
Third Person POV
Jupiter and Alexander entered into the Grand Council chamber and walked straight up to the other Kings. They are all dressed in their usual designer suits ranging in colors of grey, dark blue, and black. They each wore their large golden royal insignia ring on each of their right hands.
The chamber itself was designed like an old European cathedral with high vaulted ceilings, large stone architecture, and a large floor to ceiling stained glass windows on the back wall and an open floor plan. It is one of the oldest rooms in the palace and is considered sacred. There are four long rectangular mahogany tables that are in the middle of the room and placed in a square formation.
Luxurious high back chairs are placed evenly spaced along the outer sides of the tables. In front of each chair is a fancy setup with a fresh notepad, multiple golden colored fountain pens, and a special tablet that could access all the archives, laws, contact information for the regions etc. just about anything that could be needed. There was also a decanter of ice water along with a goblet. Some of the members had small containers of treats as well.
Along the walls were several tables filled with finger food, desserts, and a whole coffee and tea set up. No one was allowed in the chamber during sessions with the exception of a few highly specialized guards and two secretaries that all took a blood wow of secrecy. The door can only open to those that are expressly invited. Once the doors are sealed and the meeting begins no one can enter or leave until the meeting is complete. Not even servants are allowed, which hints why everything is set up in a buffet style. About a thousand years ago, a servant leaked some very sensitive issues and it caused an uprising so the kings and council agreed to ban everyone.
Thaddeus and Heppitaz are already sitting in their designated chairs off to the right. They have very little power here and are more advisors instead of decision makers. Since many laws and orders are made during these sessions, they have to be present. The Elders of the Grand Council are advisors; however they are made up of all the different supernatural species and hold great power in their own communities, much like Chancellors and in these council meetings, they can make decisions and most laws are implemented by a vote. The Kings are supreme rulers for the human territories, but in the supernatural communities, they seek more counsel and work with the local governing bodies.
The six main Kings can
veto an
any laws but it is considered very bad practice. The Elders are also the keepers of the ancient laws and help the Kings uphold the laws. The Kings nor Council can overtum old laws but they can propose and implement improvements and new conditions that are relevant to the current political and economic state of the regions
When Jupiter and Alexander approach the other Kings, Lucien notices them first and greets them with a nod. “How was our little mate this morning?” he asked the two latecomers.
Rubbing the back of his neck and looking a little pained, Jupiter spoke up saying shyly “she had another nightmare.”
Atticus, Lucien, Octavius, and Tristian each had looks of exhaustion and pain. They hated that their little precious mate was always waking in pain and sadness these days,
“On a scale of one to ten, how bad was it?” Tristian asked.
“Maybe an eight?” Alexander replied. All the beasts inside began to growl at this, wanting nothing more than to push forward and go straight to their mate and embrace her.
“She’s better now. Rose and Stella are with her” Jupiter said quickly, trying to console their inner dragons,
“She said her dream was about Gracie though and it sounded had.” Alexander began and quickly filled in the others about what Everly all highly concerned about this and so Lucien quickly reached into his pocket and grabbed his knife and sliced his palm. He said a smal then his eyes glazed over white as Aragon projected himself to Gracie’s caves,

Lucien and Aragon had a special power that only the High Kings knew about. Aragon could transport an astral projection of their spirit using the light rays. He could either observe in secret or interact as if he was truly there.
Aragon found Gracie’s chamber and from there he followed her spent to another chamber but was blocked by a barrier. He could not pass and he could not sec. But a sweet female voice echoed in his head “Gracie is okay. You will see her soon.” And with that he felt a strong force against his chest and was propelled back into Lucien’s body, the wound on his hand healed as if it never happened. Lucien’s chest still hurt and he was very confused as to
events. Aragon was silent in his head adding to the worry.

The Council Llders soon all walked in and the High Elder Gershman called the meeting to order. He was a demon fae hybrid and was one of three high council members. Everyone took their seats and the three High Council members stood and recited an incantation that sealed the chamber. It kept people from entering and leaving without permission.

You see, I was going through some of the old dragon scrolls hich dictates our oldest Laws and traditions. According to the oldest laws, our Kings must be married in order to remain in peer. They came of age one thousand years ago and have been ruling without a mate at their sides all this time.”

It was at this time that Everly had found her way into the chamber and became instantly upset that her mates, whom she was falling head over heels for, were going to be married to others. Her gasp shocked the room. The Kings were surprised and scared that she had heard this and many councilmen were surprised that someone was able to enter the chamber.
What surprised everyone even mo was that Everly was able to quickly fee the room. Her mates stand instantly and begin to shout her name and Atticus goes to follow her only to be stopped by an invisible forcefield. The outer doors are closed shut as he sees Everly’s figure running in the distance. Atticus tried several times to break the hammer to no avail and could not even contact fax or one of the other commanders to follow her.
He spun around and faced the council “Open the fucking chamber. NOW!” he used his Dragon voice and it shook the space as he roared in frustration.
High Elder Dakota spoke up “Calm down young King. You know as well as everyone else that we cannot break the spell until all matters are finished ”
“And who the hell was that anyway? How the hell did a woman, a human no less, get in here?” Elder Hangman seethed
Fuming. Lucien spoke up and snapped back “if you would have let any of us speak you old hag, you would have learned we have found our mate. That
was her that was in here.”
“Mate? Whose mate?” one of the other councilmen asked.
“Ours” Atticus said annoyed. He was still standing by the door, pacing back and forth wanting nothing but to chase his mate and hold her in her arms.
“All six of you?” another one clarified.
“Yes” all the High Kings answered instantly
“Fated or chosen another asked cautiously.
“Fated.” Lucien was quick to answer and resounding gasps and murmurs were heard throughout the chamber. It had been over five thousand years since
true fated mate was paired. And to all six of the Kings was unheard of

This changes nothing These men have a duty to bring peace to the lands and since they did not uphold the laws as written, they forfest their ruhou claim their desired mute. And she is human! She is not worthy of the crown. They have been promised to the daughters of the high tribes and uphold that promise** Elder Hangman screamed. “This changes rything Fabio! You cannot go against the gods. Human or not, they are fated. Grow up old scrooge!” one of the Elders countered and then arguments began to rise in the chamber. The Kings just sat there, bewildered. No one saw how Thaddeus and Heppitar just sat back and smirkest,
