Chapter 1
In my past life, my brother in law Cletus’s son was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
The whole family forced my daughter to be the donor.[]
When I refused, they chained me up like an animal.[]
And made me watch while they beat her, starved her.
And forced her to eat scraps off the floor like a dog.]
She was already sick, but they still dragged her into that operating room.]
They cut her open while I was still fighting to break free.
When I finally got loose and stormed the hospital like a madwoman–I saw Cletus alive and kicking, grinning like nothing happened.[]
And my daughter…. laid out on that cold metal table,
Her chest ripped open, never again to call me “Mom.“]
theld her lifeless body and screamed until my throat bled, while my mother’s icy voice cut through the air:[]
“She was just a useless little brat who couldn’t even carry on the family name.”
“What’s the point of crying?“]
After that, the grief swallowed me whole.
I fell into depression and jumped to my death.[]
“0
And then…. I opened my eyes again, back on the day I picked up the diagnosis report.[]
-0
I opened my eyes, completely disoriented.]
Then a tiny hand tugged at mine and a sweet voice said, “Mommy!”
Snapped back to reality, I looked down into my daughter’s wide, curious eyes–and I knew it.
I was back
Back to the day before they tested her for a transplant match.
In her confused gaze, I suddenly pulled her into my arms.
Joy and heartbreak crashed over me all at once.
She had died…. and now she was here.
I laughed and cried like I’d gone crazy, tears falling nonstop.
I never thought I’d get to see her again.
I held her like I could press her into my bones, never letting go.
“Mommy, why are you crying?“]
Sera reached up with her little fingers to wipe my face.[]
I looked at her and smiled through tears.
“I’m just so happy.“}
In my last life, I went to pick up the test results for Cletus’s son and my daughter.}]
When I saw that his son had kidney cancer, I told them inunediately.
I thought I was saving a life
But all I did was hand them the excuse to butcher my daughter []
Now she’s gone and I’m left with a nightmare
Chapter 1
I clenched the test report tight in my hand.
But this time. I won’t say a damn word.[]
Dinner Time
Sera and I were the first ones at the table.]
There were five chairs–none for us.
I watched as my parents, my husband, Cletus, and his son sat down like royalty.[]
I held Sera’s hand, standing quietly to the side.[]
The five of them tore into meat like wolves, not even glancing at us.
Sera bit her finger, staring at the dishes on the table–ribs, smoked ham, pulled pork–things she’d never even tasted.[]
Drool spilled from her lips.]
She gripped my hand and whispered, “Mommy, I’m hungry…“]
Maybe Jethro–Cletus’s brat–heard her.
Because he tossed us a paper–thin slice of meat like a dog treat.]
“Here. You can have that.”
1 grabbed Sera’s hand tighter, staring straight at Jethro like I was looking at a corpse.]
Sera looked up at me with pleading eyes.
“Mommy… I want some real food.“[]
Imogene, my mother, shot her a nasty look
“Real food? You worthless little burden think you deserve that?“]
She pointed at the stained counter behind us.]
“That’s where your dinner is.“]]
Two dirty bowls, chipped to hell, crusted with God–knows–what.[]
Inside was some kind of sour, moldy slop–not food. []
Just a pile of filth that stank from ten feet away.
This house… this family always treated us like we were less than nothing.[]
I stayed silent.
My face didn’t move.
To them, Sera and I weren’t even worth a seat at the damn table.
And my husband–he changed the day I gave birth to her.[]
Or maybe he just stopped pretending.
This family was a twisted hellhole
But this time, I wasn’t going to suffer quietly.
I looked at them all and said clearly
“My daughter Sera’s the one with kidney cancer.
