Quillon shook his head slightly. “It’s just on my way. I had planned to come down anyway. As for the Prescott Family’s invitation, it should be sent to a different address next time. I’ll be moving soon for my wedding and the mountain residence is inconvenient.”
Mrs. Prescott’s expression froze and she gestured towards me. “Are the Thorne Family planning to form an alliance with the Aldridge Family?”
Quillon nodded calmly. “Next time, I hope the Prescott Family will join us for a meal.”}
Everyone was shocked. How could the head of the Prescott Family show such respect to someone as mysterious as a blind man?}
As the murmurs filled the room, someone noticed the boxes scattered on the floor. They were gifts Quillon had brought for Astrid.”
The words “Thorne” were boldly printed in gold on the boxes.
“Is this person from the Thorne Family?“}
“Is he from the Thorne Family on the high mountains in the north of the city?“}
Everyone gasped in surprise and no one dared to speak further.
Though I knew the Thorne Family was prestigious, I wasn’t fully aware of just how powerful they were.

“Gift has been delivered, respect has been paid. Let’s go,” Quillon spoke coldly, turning away and swinging his cane. The rhythmic sound of it tapping echoed once again.”
I glanced at Lucian, still lost in his sorrow, before turning and leaving the venue.
I thought Quillon would take me home, but instead, he brought me to the Aldridge Family house.
“What are we doing here?” I asked.”
Quillon didn’t answer. He simply walked straight into my house.
Confused, I followed him, his movements so fluid that it hardly seemed like he was blind. “Mom…”

“This man from the Thorne Family may look good, but unfortunately, he’s blind.”}
It was clear that she wasn’t particularly fond of Quillon himself. What she liked were the conditions the Thorne Family had offered. I lowered my head and noticed the contract and list of gifts sent by the Thorne Family. That’s when I realized why she was smiling. It was because her daughter fetched a good price.

“If you’re satisfied, then go ahead and sign.“}
After my mother signed the contract, she pushed it in front of Quillon. I was about to help him take it, but before I could, he casually took off his sunglasses and grabbed the contract.
He flipped through the pages, signing one after another.
I stood there, stunned and stammered, “Y… You’re not blind?“}
After finishing signing all the papers, Quillon looked up and smiled at me.
Only then did I see his beautiful, slightly upturned eyes, like blooming peach blossoms. His gaze sparkled with starlight.
He tilted his head with a playful smile on his lips.
‘I wasn’t blind to begin with,” Quillon said casually, his tone light. “Just had a simple eye surgery. Your mother misunderstood.”
My mom stood frozen, unable to process the situation. She was still trying to figure out why the Thorne Family would want to marry me. Quillon took the contract and leaned back slightly, his gaze growing serious.
‘Since the contract’s been signed,” he continued, “I won’t waste time talking with my future mother–in–law. But there are two additional clauses in the contract. Have you read them?“}
“First, you will withdraw from Aldridge Group and all your shares will be purchased by the Thorne Family and transferred to Lyra. Second, once you leave here, you will not appear in front of Lyra again.”
