Jasmine nodded in ackmonded grment and said, “Okay”
Joshua entered the private room and saw his older brother, Hayden, video calling with his wife, Elsie Tucker, and their mother, Susana Davidson.
He led and greeted them over the phone. “Hey, Mom, Else.”
Susana greeted him warmly before cutting straight to the point. “Josh, your brother and sister–in–law have been married for eight years. It’s time you caught up. When are you bringing a girlfriend home for me to meet?”
“I’m not in any rush,” Joshua replied in his typical calm, indiferent tone.
Susana was frustrated with his response. She couldn’t understand how her two sons had tumed out so differently.
Hayden and Elsie had been childhood sweethearts. They started dating in high school and got married right after graduating from college. It seemed that romance came naturally for Hayden
But Joshua didn’t even have a close female friend in years, much less a girlfriend.
Susana sighed. “You ran off to Jesceria to be a lawyer and only come back to Baelbury twice a year to avoid blind dates. Do you know how sad I am? I don’t care what excuse you have, but if you don’t start sorting out your personal life this year, I’ll fly to jesceria and pick out a wife for you!”
Joshua showed no emotion. He was clearly unfazed by his mother’s threat
Hayden, who sat beside him, chuckled and teased, “Mom, you don’t have to worry too much. Not long ago, Josh requested an invitation to the Zeller family’s banquet. He even got one of my old classmates in Ellen to help ship over a designer gown. I’m guessing the woman who came with him tonight might be someone The really likes!”
Upon hearing this, Sucina’s eyes lit up. “Is that so? Josh has finally shown some interest in a woman.”
“She’s just a friend.” Joshua didn’t confirm anything. He simply made a casual statement.
Still, Susana had never seen her son make this kind of effort for a woman before. She figured that he had to like her if he was going that tar
“I’m flying to jesceria tonight. I need to see this woman with my very own eyes!” she exclaimed.
Afraid she might scare Jasmine off, Joshua quickly steered the topic away. Over the phone, he said, “Mom, Elsie is still pregnant, and you need to look after Connor If you make the trip, who will look after them?”
Susana instantly glanced at Elsie’s baby bump and remembered her precious grandson, Connor Sutton.
Since Hayden wasn’t around, she knew that she had to take care of them.
She sighed and tumed to Hayden over the video call, instructing him, “Since your brother doesn’t have much dating experience, please keep an eye on him and teach him how to court a young woman properly.”
Hayden grinned as he nodded.
With that, the call ended.
Hayden looked at Joshua with a teasing glint in his eyes and asked, “So, have you really met someone?”
Joshua merely raised an eyebrow and remained quiet.
But Hayden knew his brother all too well. Outside of court, Joshua rarely tallied, much less made time for a small conversation.
“Are you really not going to introduce her to me? Come on. I canhelp you,” Hayden offered.
However, Joshua abruptly stood up, clearly not planning to discuss the topic further.
“While you’re in Jesteria, don’t tell anyour about my identity ”
Hayden knew he preferred to keep a low profile, so he agreed without hesitation. “Sure. No problem. Oh, by the way, you place has two bedrooms, right? Let me crashat your place for a few days.”
“That’s not really convenient.” Joshua tumed him down immediately. “I’ll be working late in the study. It’s better if you stay at a hotel.“
“You’re such a heartless jed Hayden laughed before adding, “Talso invited M. Stone for you. If you have any questions, you can just ask him yourself. He should be arriving a bit later.”
“Thanka, Hayden,” Joshua thanked him sincerely.
He knew that Hayden had always been tree–spirited. If I hadn’t been for fulfilling Joshua’s dream of becoming a lawyer, Hayden would never have taken over Sutton Group at such a young VER
“Don’t mention L. Now, are you seriously not introducing yoga gilfriend to me?“
When Joshua heard Hayden’s question, he was left speechless.
