looked for a long time and finally worked as a kitchen helper in a Chinese restaurant.
My life was very dull. Although I earned little, I was busy filling my emptiness and I couldn’t think of the person I thought about day and light.
Until this day, I saw a familiar person standing at the door after get off work. Paul leaned against the car and smiled at me, but his smile vas no longer as brilliant as before.}
He had lost weight and became sloppy recently. There were wrinkles everywhere on his clothes and a button had fallen off his cuffs. His chin had a beard and his eyes were all black and blue.
just stood there and stared at him in a daze, not understanding why he found this place.}
was more terrified. I was afraid that if he opened his mouth, I would be soft–hearted and go back with him.
Paul came over slowly and tucked my hair behind my ears. He didn’t ask me why I left, nor why I was here. He just said softly in a rembling voice, “Olivia, I’m late.“}
looked up at him and my tears were about to burst.
I wasn’t until my eyes were a little sore that I tried my best to stop the tears. I could feel my heartbeat speeding up, but I was just amenting for the past that was not worth it. He was no longer in my heart.
shook my head and took a step back, looking at him with a vigilant face.
said firmly, “Paul, you are married. You should go home.“}
Paul didn’t expect that I would drive him away as soon as I opened my mouth. He anxiously stepped forward to hold my hand.
His eyes were red and he eagerly explained, “I know you misunderstood. Emma and I are just a business marriage. When the interests of Our two families are stable, I can divorce her. Believe me, I will be with you forever soon.”}
After that, he took out a post–nuptial agreement from his pocket. I glanced at the words and knew that what Paul said was true.§ But what was the use of this? I disdained to be a mistress, even if their marriage was fake, but the marriage certificate was real.
interrupted him and seriously said, “Do you know that we had a child between us and you killed him with your own hands.“}
If Paul hadn’t married Emma, I wouldn’t have aborted the child. We obviously had unlimited possibilities, but he chose the path that put me to death.2
Paul understood what I hadn’t finished saying. He held my shoulders and looked at me with a sad face. He said in distressed, “Silly girl, why did you abort the child by yourself? Do you know how heartbroken I am!“}
Looking at his red eyes, I brushed his hand away and said coldly, “That’s why we can never go back to the past. It’s hard to undo the past.” Paul’s body trembled. He looked at me with a strong crying voice and begged, “Olivia, can’t we really start over? If you just give me some time, I can really protect you. We can obviously have a bright future!“}
I snorted coldly and said, “Enough, you forced me to do this. Now, leave. I don’t want to see you again!“}
After that, I left without looking back. I looked back when I turned the corner. Paul’s shadow under the street light was elongated and he was shrouded in a faint sadness.
1 didn’t know why, when I saw him, I suddenly felt a pair of big hands holding my beating heart. After experiencing the pain of near–death, I welcomed a new life.
