Chapter 10%
Since Richard didn’t say anything, Dominic seemed to want to tease Richard more. I was very surprised to see it, actually. After all, I never expected Dominic to be this kind of person.
Dominic smirked and added, “Since Emily is so good at lying, shouldn’t Mr. Ford also test the child? Who knows… “>
After that, Dominic deliberately stopped as he casted a glance at Bryan, who stood there, confused and innocent. Emily’s face turned ghostly pale and her legs buckled. She opened her mouth to speak, but no sound came out.
On the other hand, Richard froze as if he was struck by lightning. Frankly speaking, I was Bryan wasn’t actually Richard’s son?
Without a word, Richard grabbed Bryan’s arm and stormed off.

Emily stumbled behind them, shouting desperately, “Richard, you can’t just believe him! Bryan is your son! I swear!“}
“Slow down… please!“}
But Richard didn’t even look back at her.
After returning to the U.S., Richard took Bryan straight to the hospital for a DNA test. What was the result? Like what Dominic expected, Bryan wasn’t actually Richard’s child. He had been fooled by Emily.
Richard kicked the front door open when he got home. Emily rushed out, panic written all over her face. Richard threw the DNA report at her.
The paper slapped against her cheek and floated to the floor.
Emily went pale as death, then crumpled to her knees with a dull thud.§
She clutched his legs, sobbing as she said sadly, “Richard, I was wrong… Please forgive me.“} “It was just that … I just loved you too much. I was s–scared. I was scared that you’d leave me if
“Please forgive me. Give me one more chance!“}
Richard shoved her away in disgust.}
“Don’t touch me! You’ve been lying and scheming for years. I must’ve been blind to fall for it!”

knew.”
Before she could say a word,
Soon enough, he whipped out his phone, ordering his assistant, “Send Emily and her son away. Anywhere, an island, the middle of nowhere. I don’t care. Just get her out of my sight.”
His assistant acted quickly. Within moments, several bodyguards arrived, grabbing Emily by the arms.
She screamed and clawed at the doorframe as they dragged her out, “Richard, no! Please! I’m sorry! Don’t do this… please… I beg of you.”
Her cries echoed in the now–empty house, but Richard didn’t even flinch.
After everything, Richard came looking for me again. This time, he was full of regret. I was in the flight club’s lounge, reviewing documents about renovating and expanding the club.
He stood silently in front of me for a long time before finally speaking, “Harriet … I was wrong.”
“I’ve sent Emily away. She won’t ever show up again. I was a fool and I let you down.”
After that, he asked weakly, “Please… will you come home with me? I swear I’ll give you my heart, listen to everything you say and never hurt you again.“E
I looked up calmly. I was done with this man. There were no emotions to him any longer, except indifference.
“Richard, what’s done is done. We can’t go back easily,” I told him coldly.}
Ther:, I continued, “You can’t fix what you broke with just words.“}
I closed the file, stood up and walked toward the airfield. Richard just watched me go. His lips moved, but he said nothing.
When I landed the plane after a smooth flight, I wasn’t surprised when I saw Richard wassstill waiting on the tarmac. He looked thinner this time. Not only that, he looked worn out, too.”
The wind messed up his hair. But what took me was his eyes. His eyes were filled with something unreadable.§
He then walked up slowly, forcing a weak smile.
“You flew beautifully. You made your dream come true.“>>
I nodded as I responded calmly, “Thank you. If you really want to help, sign the divorce papers.”} Then, I looked at him and firmly said, “It’s time we made a clean break, Richard. Let me free now.” Richard froze. But after a long pause, he finally nodded. On the day of the divorce, he came late. When he handed me the signed agreement, his hands were trembling.
He looked at me with a quiet kind of sadness.
“Harriet I hope you live a happy life.“%
I held the divorce agreement and just stared at it for a moment.
After that, I turned and walked away into the sun. For the first time in a long time, I felt free. That was what mattered to me the most
