Chapter 12
The man in the floral shirt who was feeling smug earlier was completely stunned.
He gave Nadia a thumbs–up. He was smiling a little helplessly, but he openly accepted his fate. “I’ve lost, and I accept it wholeheartedly. Your skill is truly out of this world. This is truly an eye–opening experience for me today.”
He turned to the crowd and waved before he said fearlessly, “I’m a man of my word. I’ll give you a performance tonight. Also, everything is on me tonight, so drink to your heart’s content!”
“Hooray!” The crowd erupted again, whistling and cheering.
The man went on stage and started his wonderful performance as he moved along to the music. Everybody burst out laughing, but he kept his gaze on Nadia,
The fanboys who were stunned by Nadia’s skills earlier immediately gathered around her.
“Can I have your autograph?”
“Can I have your number?”
“Can I be your student?”
Wendy and Nadia were swarmed by the crowd.
Wendy was still able to give them a few simple replies, but Nadia was stumped by their sudden enthusiasm. She frowned a little and subconsciously wanted to back
away.
Things got a little chaotic at one point. Many people raised their phones, trying to get a photo of Nadia’s beautiful face. They wanted to post it online, as it would certainly go viral.
Right at that moment, a coat with a faint hint of cigarette smell suddenly landed on Nadia from above, covering her face. Her vision was instantly covered by the dark cloth, making her feel fearful.
In the next second, an icy hand grabbed her wrist while another wrapped around her shoulders, and the person pulled her out of the crowd without giving her a chance to resist at all.
Nadia stumbled and was quickly taken out of the club while someone protected her in their arms.
Meanwhile, the commotion in the club was put to an end.
“Get out of my way!” a thunderous voice that was clearly filled with anger sounded.
Knox parted the crowd and walked right up to Wendy. He grabbed Wendy’s arm with great force and said, “Come with me!”
It was clear in his voice that he was suppressing his anger. Without giving Wendy a chance to react, he dragged her out of the crowd and walked in another direction.
The noises in the surroundings seemed to fade away in an instant.
It was after Nadia was dragged out of the club and breathed in the slightly chilly air outside that the coat was gently lifted off of her.
Nadia looked up and met a pair of unfathomable eyes.
it was Callum.
He did not look too happy. There was a hint of anger in his eyes that was barely noticeable as he surveyed her.
He let go of her wrist and said with his usual sarcastic tone, “Way to go, Nadia. You’re getting bolder now. You even came to a place like this to have fun.”
It was clear in his voice that he was holding back his anger. He glanced with a sharp gaze at the showy dress that she was wearing and continued, “Look at what you’re wearing. You don’t look like you’re married into the Ford family at all!”
He closed in on her with an intimidating air and added, “If your photo was taken by some oblivious reporter earlier, do you think Grandpa would go after you or me?”
Nadia looked up. There was no sign of fear in her icy gaze. There was a sense of resolution and exhaustion because she had seen through it all in her eyes instead.
The words that came out of her red lips were prickly. “Callum, let’s meet at court at 9:00 am tomorrow.”
The air grew thick with tension.
The rage in Callum’s eyes was completely unleashed, and he exploded in anger. “What did you say? So, I can’t even chastise you anymore now?”
Nadia’s voice was cold as ice. “If you’re not free, just have someone send the divorce papers to me tomorrow.”
Callum was so angry that he laughed instead and jeered, “Who was it who insisted on marrying into the Ford family back then? Nadia, weren’t you the one who chose all of this?”
He found it impossible to reason with her. Was all this not her own doing?
“Yes, you’re right, Nadia openly admitted it, but there was no expression on her face at all. “I was blind back then, so I chose the wrong path. That’s why I am doing my best to correct this mistake now.”
Her voice was unusually calm but firm. She stopped looking at him as soon as she said that. She turned around and wanted to leave that suffocating place.
“Nadia!” Callum was quick to react, grabbing her wrist so hard that she felt hurt.
His gaze was sharp as he asked, “You’ll have nothing if you leave me. Have you thought it through?”
As if she had heard the most ridiculous joke in the world, Nadia smirked and laughed at herself. “Have I gotten anything in our three–year marriage?”
A suffocating feeling washed over her, leaving tears welling up in her eyes.

Callum suddenly fell silent. As they were not living together, he indeed cared very little about her.
Suddenly, a drunk man came walking over while swaying. He was humming a tune and walking with a stumbling gait. It seemed that he was about to bump into Nadia, and Callum subconsciously pulled her into his arms.
The intense air he extruded, as well as the scent of the cologne that he usually wore, instantly enveloped her.
Nadia froze. Before she could break herself free, she heard his voice coming from the top of her head, saying, “I’ll give you a ride home.”
“No need.” Nadia pushed him away with all her might. Her gaze was icy, and her tone was distant.
Right at that moment, the blinding lights of a car lit up the night sky. A luxurious black Maybach stopped silently by the road.
The door opened, and out came a tall man. The man was wearing a custom black suit. He looked icy and was giving off an intimidating air.
He walked right up to Nadia and Callum.
A faint hint of surprise gleamed in Callum’s eyes as he saw the man. The anger on Callum’s face eased up a little and was replaced by a polite yet aloof expression.
“What a coincidence, Mr. Langner?” said Callum.
Samuel simply glanced at him calmly before landing his gaze on Nadia, and his harsh gaze seemed to soften a little.
With a deep and husky voice, he said to Nadia, “I’ll give you a lift home.”
Nadia nodded without any hesitation at all. Then, she was reminded of something and added, “Wendy is still inside.”
“Don’t worry.” Samuel’s reply was concise. “I’ll have someone go look for her.”
Nadia felt at ease and nodded. Then, she walked right to the Maybach without taking another glance at Callum.
Callum stood in place, looking sullen and clenching his fists.
A sense of inexplicable rage burned within him as he watched Nadia walk toward another man without looking back at all. However, his rationality told him that it was still not time to have a fallout with Samuel just yet.
He took a deep breath, pushing his anger down. He forced a perfect yet cold smile and said, “If that’s the case, thank you for giving my wife a ride home, Mr. Langner.”
He deliberately emphasized the words “my wife“, as if he was reaffirming his position as Nadia’s husband.
Samuel exuded an icy air from head to toe as he turned around to order his bodyguard to look for Wendy.
Soon, Wendy was escorted out of the club by the bodyguard. She then went into the Maybach, and they drove off.
Callum made a call and said icily, “Head to Nadia’s home right now and watch her get in. Tell me immediately if Samuel spent the night there.” “Yes, sir!”
