Chapter 33

Julian’s brain kicked into overdrive

He gave a pause. What exactly did Nadia mean with that look? Was she implying that nothing happened in there? But Brittany’s expression indicated otherwise

Hold on

Suddenly, the dots connected

From the moment Callum went into the lounge to when he came back out, it had been at most five minutes

In those five minutes, he had to take off his shirt and put on a new one. Which meant the actual time left to do the deedwas three minutes

Julian inhaled sharply

Just like that, Nadia’s strange, meaningful expression made perfect sense

She wasn’t saying there was nothing worth seeing. She was saying there wasn’t enough to see in the first place

Holy crap

It was no wonder Nadia wanted a divorce. Who could put up with that? Callum was a threeminute man? It wasn’t surprising that Nadia never got pregnant after three years of marriage. So this was the real issue

If this kind of bombshell ever got out, Ford Group’s stock would nosedive overnight

Julian went pale, and his hands turned cold

No. Absolutely not

For the sake of Callum’s dignity, for the company’s stability, and the sake of his job, he had to act fast

He yanked out his phone, fingers trembling as he dialed

Hello? Mr. Carlson? It’s me, Julian.”

He dropped his voice to a whisper, but the words fired out like a machine gun

Listen, this is urgent. Like tenalarm -fire urgent. I need you to send over your latest and best performance supplementseverything you’ve got. All of it. Right now, straight to HQ.”

He hung up, still visibly shaking

Julian felt like his entire career was undergoing an unprecedented, highstakes stress test

After leaving the Ford Group building, Nadia took a cab straight to Langner Group

The one in Seora was only a branch office. Samuel had established the company’s headquarters in Falveria and hadn’t set foot in Aurelia for the past three years. The Global Medical Summit had always been held in Falveria, but now that Nadia was back, Samuel was determined to steal her away

The moment she stepped into the lobby, Samuel came down personally to greet her

The staff were stunned. Since his return, Samuel had never once come down to welcome a guest

in

person

Clearly, Nadia wasn’t like anyone else

Was she the future boss’s wife

Nad, you’re here. His voice was soft, like he was afraid to disturb something fragile

His eyes still held that same gentle warmth, as steady and quiet as a calm lake

Samuel!Nadia smiled brightly

He led her straight to the topfloor executive office

Outside the floortoceiling windows, the skyscrapers of Seora stretched out like a sprawling city puzzle

Samuel signaled to his assistant for coffee, and a rich aroma soon filled the room

I looked into what happened yesterday. It was the Chrisen family. They hired the hackers,he said, his tone darkening

They were relentless and tried breaching Langner Group’s systems at the same time, hoping to throw us off.”

Just as I suspected.Nadia frowned slightly and took a small sip of coffee. They clearly won’t stop until they get what they want.”

Before she returned home, her last patient had been the patriarch of the Chrisen family

They had never imagined that anyone in the world could cure brain cancer

An 87yearold man, given a death sentence by every top neurologist across the globe, had somehow made a full recovery in just 60 days

The Chrisens immediately tried to partner with her, offering billions to buy her treatment formula

Nadia had flatout refused. They then changed tactics, disguising their pursuit as a collaboration, hoping to bind her to them permanently for their gain
