Chapter 6
I wanted Randell to send me home.
But I was so dizzy and exhausted that I fell asleep in the car.
When I woke up, it was already the next day.
I stretched lazily and accidentally touched something.
In an instant, I became fully alert.
Looking at my hand resting on Randell, hesitated, unsure if I should move it.
“What’s wrong? Can’t bear to let go?”

Randell turned towards me, propping his
head up with one hand, teasing me with a
smirk.
I let out a small scream and instinctively
kicked him.
I swear it wasn’t intentional.
But just like that, I kicked Randell off the bed, leaving him to cover himself in a vulnerable manner, his expression a mix of pain and surprise.
“Are you… okay?”
At that moment, I genuinely felt scared.
If anything happened to Randell, not only would he be furious, but his mother would also come after me!

Wrapping myself in the blanket, I
carefully scooted to the edge of the bed.
“Randell… are you alright?”

The next second, a strong hand grasped my arm. With a gentle tug, I found myself tumbling onto him.
The distance between us was alarmingly
close.
Our bare bodies pressed tightly together.
Randell’s warmth radiated against me.
“Randell…” I tried to call his name, but my voice trembled for reasons I couldn’t understand.

“Eleanore, I want to kiss you.”

Randell didn’t give me a chance to refuse.
Before I could say a word, his heated lips
were on mine.
We kissed.
My mind went blank. Perhaps it was because I was still half–asleep; I even found myself responding to his bold
move.
I felt his rough hand glide over every inch of my skin.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
The last shred of my sanity snapped back into place.

I quickly pushed him away.

Glancing around the unfamiliar room, I instinctively dashed to the nearby closet.
The person outside didn’t give Randell a chance to open the door.
A woman in high heels walked in.
I froze, thinking, “Does this person know the code to Randell’s house?”
My heart felt like it was being gripped by invisible hands, tightening until I felt like sinking.
“Randell, you’re home! You scared me to death. I tried calling you last night and you didn’t answer. I thought something

had happened!”
I recognized Lesly’s voice!
Curiosity got the better of me, and I peered through the door crack.
The floor was littered with my and Randell’s clothes.

Lesly seemed oblivious, running her long nails across Randell’s skin.
“Randell, remember we’re engaged. You can have your fun now, but things will change once we’re married.”
As she spoke, her gaze swept over in my direction, just briefly.
I could tell for sure that Lesly knew I was

I silently covered my body, curling up in
the corner.
I thought, “Yes, I’ve been apart from him for so many years.
It’s only natural that Randell would have other women around him.
I never questioned it, always living in a fantasy whenever I interacted with him.
Now, it was time for that dream to end.”
I fell into contemplation, losing track of when Lesly finally left.
It wasn’t until Randell pushed open the door that I snapped back to reality.
Chapter 6 “Eleanore.”
He softly called my name.
I slapped him across the face.
I hit him hard.
Afterward, my palm throbbed slightly from the impact.
“Randell, what do you think I am?
You have a fiancée and still come after me? Do you find me that ridiculous?”
Randell held me tightly.
I let him maneuver my body, silently watching him.

Randell frowned, appearing pained.
“The engagement was arranged by our families; I never wanted it.”
I lifted my gaze, numb.
“But you can’t escape your family, can you? We’ve never belonged to the same world.”

“Mr. Deleon, if you’re done playing around before your wedding, just leave. Give me back my child, and let’s return to our own lives, shall we?”
Randell fell silent.
He lowered his arms, looking somewhat dejected.
