Chapter 8
Randell and I went to the kindergarten to pick up Alistair.
Alistair effortlessly opened the car door.
He didn’t notice me at first, jumping straight into Randell’s arms.
“Randell, you’re here to pick me up again,” he said.

I felt a wave of confusion wash over me.
After all, as far as I remembered, they had only met a couple of times.
‘Alistair Schultz!”
Chapter 8
When I scolded him, he flinched and finally acknowledged me.
“Aunt Eleanore! What are you doing here?”

He poked Randell’s arm and, thinking I couldn’t hear, whispered, “Why didn’t you tell me Aunt Eleanore was here?”
Seeing how clearly Alistair favored Randell made me feel a pang of helplessness.
“When did you two become so close?”
Alistair tilted his head. “Since the last time you were sick.“–
I was stunned.

I realized that seeing Randell during my fever wasn’t just a dream!

Thinking about the things I had said back then made me incredibly embarrassed, and my cheeks flushed.
Randell didn’t take us home.
Instead, he drove straight to Deleon
Manor.
As I gazed at the grand mansion, my fingertips trembled.
Randell held my hand. “Don’t be scared. I’m here.”
At that moment, I understood that regardless of our relationship, Randell intended to break off his engagement with
Chapter 8 Lesly.
The living room of Deleon Manor was filled with members of the Deleon and
Ruiz families.
Randell approached Lesly’s parents calmly.
“Mr. Ruiz, Mrs. Ruiz, I invited you
here today to discuss canceling the
engagement.”

Lesly’s face turned pale, and Gerda looked equally displeased.
Gerda pointed at me and shouted, “I thought you were a pure girl, but it turns out you’ve only met Randell a few times and already seduced him! You’re nothing but a tramp!”

I instinctively covered Alistair’s ears.
Randell stepped in front of me protectively.
“Mrs. Ruiz, please show Eleanore some respect. I’ve known Eleanore for eight years; we just had a misunderstanding. Now we understand each other’s feelings.”
He calmly addressed Lesly. “I’m not here to seek your approval; I’m here to inform you. Since you’ve heard me, I’ll take my leave now.‘
Makayla shouted, “If you dare to step out of this house, never come back! If you leave, I won’t recognize you as a member of the Deleon family!”

Randell paused for a moment.
He turned to look at me.

“If I weren’t rich anymore, would you look down on me?”
I smiled. “No, I wouldn’t.”
Randell placed his cards and car keys on the table in front of Makayla.
“From today, I’m resigning as the CEO of Deleon Group.”
Hand in hand, we walked out of the mansion.
Randell chuckled. “We can’t call a cab here, so we’ll have to walk for a bit.”

“Then you can give me a foot massage
tonight.”
“Sure thing!”
The next time I saw Makayla was five years later.

Although Randell had left Deleon Group, his business acumen quickly made him a rising star in the industry.
In just three years, he had worked hard enough to buy a car and a house.
Alistair had reached the right age and successfully received a heart transplant.
Unlike Denisse, Alistair’s surgery was a
success.

Randell and I got married four years ago.
Makayla looked at our small but cozy
home, frowning.
“This child has grown so much.”
Alistair shrank back at her words.
I honestly didn’t know why she had come today.
But after all, she was Randell’s mother, and I couldn’t just send her away.
“You’re both over thirty; why haven’t you had kids yet?”
“Having Alistair is enough for us.”

Randell walked in after work, opened the door, and came over.
He wrapped his arms around Alistair and me, pressing a gentle kiss to my lips.
“Eleanore isn’t well, so I don’t want her to have more children. Plus, we already have Alistair, who’s so sweet and lovely. We’re very happy.”
Makayla hesitated but ultimately smiled.
“Randell, five years is long enough. Ten years ago, I held you two back. Now, let’s go home together.”
Randell tilted his head, letting me make the decision.
I smiled and took his hand and Makayla’s.

Looking at Alistair, who was so innocent,
I asked, “How about we go back and live with Grandma?”
Alistair nodded, moving to Makayla’s side and reaching out his little hand.
“Grandma, let’s go home together.”
Makayla finally couldn’t hold back her
tears.
She pulled Alistair into her embrace, repeating, “Let’s go home, let’s go home together.”
We had endured many twists and turns over the past ten years.
Although the journey was arduous, as
