Chapter 19
At some point, a figure that looked strikingly like Celeste passed by him. She was holding onto a foreign man’s arm.
His whole heart felt like it had been ripped apart. It felt unbearable.
Damien clenched his fists tightly. His eyes were red as he rushed toward the foreign man and landed a purich on his face with a loud thud.
“Let go of my wife!”
“Your wife? Are you out of your mind? Who do you think I am, then?”
The foreign man spat out a mouthful of blood and stared in disbelief. He then angrily threw a punch back at him, but Damien caught it with his hand.
The woman next to the man quickly stepped in to shield him. She yelled, “Where did you come from, you lunatic? I don’t know you at all! Let’s go, darling!”
She stared at Damien warily. It was only then did Damien realize he had mistaken her for Celeste. The woman merely had a similar silhouette, yet it had thrown him into complete disarray.
“I’m sorry,” Damien muttered under his breath.
After compensating them with some money, he resumed his endless search. If it wasn’t for this experience, he might never have realized just how many people in the world resembled Celeste.
JSome had similar hairstyles, some had the same eyes, others shared a similar voice… But no matter how alike they were, none of them were Celeste. He
had to have her.
Just when Damien was on the brink of despair, Taylor suddenly sent him a message.
“Mr. Ashford, we’ve found Ms. Wilde! She’s in this restaurant right now, along with her parents. Here’s the location. Please get there as soon as possible!

Damien nearly burst into tears when he stared at the location pin and the photo of Celeste’s side profile.
He took a deep breath and steadied himself. Without even bothering to fix his appearance, he rushed to the restaurant as fast as he could. “Celeste!”
Damien was stunned the moment he pushed open the door and saw the crowd gathered in the private room.
“Chase? What are you doing here?” he exclaimed.
His heart was in chaos as he questioned him anxiously.
Chase wore a calm expression and smiled slightly. “I’m Celeste’s boyfriend. Why wouldn’t I be here?”
The moment he said that, chaos erupted in Damien’s mind. His ears began to buzz, and he could no longer hear anything. Chase’s words echoed over and over in his head, nearly driving him mad.
“How could this be? Celeste, how could he become your boyfriend so quickly? I want to hear your explanation!”
Damien’s eyes reddened. His voice quavered, emotions dangerously threatening to spill over.

However, Celeste looked utterly indifferent. She took a bite of her food and replied, “It wasn’t that quick. It’s already been over half a year since our divorce. He pursued me for a long time. I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m single anyway–what’s wrong with that?”
Damien’s breath caught in his throat. His lips moved a few times, but not a single sound emerged.
So, it had already been half a year…
Her offhand remarks were like countless knives, plunging deep into his heart, shredding it into a pile of ruined flesh.
Choking back his sobs, he replied, “It’s wrong. It’s all wrong. I don’t want to see you with someone else. You’re mine. I love you. I love only you!” Celeste scoffed, finding it all utterly ridiculous. “You say you love me, but is hurting someone your way of loving them? If that’s what love is, then I want
none of it!”
There wasn’t the slightest hint of affection in her eyes, only indifference.
