Chapter 77
Charlie was genuinely, sincerely concerned about her.
That realization left Diana feeling dazed, and the sense of déjà vu grew increasingly stronger. It was as if they had known each other for a long, long time.
She lowered her gaze and said nothing.
“If he’s mistreating you, perhaps…” He paused for several seconds. “Perhaps leaving him is the best way to protect yourself.”
She kept her head low, still silent.
To Charlie, her reaction seemed to carry another meaning–a silent rejection.
“I’m sorry,” he said, pursing his lips.
A flicker of regret crossed his face. “I know I overstepped. I have no right to say any of this. But Diana, you didn’t use to be so hesitant and indecisive in the past,” Diana’s head shot up,
her eyes wide.
“In the past? Did… did we know each other before?”
Right. Evelyne had mentioned once that Charlie used to like her. He had even written her a love letter and given her gifts.
But why couldn’t she remember anyone like him from her school days?
Why?
It didn’t make sense.
Just by looks alone, Charlie’s almost otherworldly face would’ve made him a campus heartthrob. He shouldn’t have been so forgettable. So why couldn’t she recall a single thing about him?
“It’s normal that you don’t remember. We were only schoolmates at Areman High School for a year and a half, and we weren’t even in the same class.” Charlie chuckled as he stood up to help her pack the remaining medicine, tying a perfect butterfly knot on the plastic bag with his long, slender fingers. “Let’s go. You’re heading to Citrus Bless, right? I’ll give you a ride.”
Still in a daze, Diana stood up and followed him.
So they’d been high schoolmates for a year and a half. It was no wonder she had no memory of him. After all, from high school onward, her world had been filled to the brim with Vincent. She hadn’t had During high school, there were 28 classes in her grade, each with approximately 40 to 50 students. With so many people, her life had been split cleanly in two–half Vincent and half academics.
It was only natural for her to forget Charlie.
His car was parked nearby, It was a Maybach.

anyone else.
As Díana walked over, her eyes lingered on the front passenger seat for a few seconds, then she instinctively moved toward the back seat.
After all, she wasn’t Charlie’s partner. Sitting in the front would feel a little awkward.

Ever since Gabriella appeared, Vincent’s passenger seat no longer belonged to her, which only made her more sensitive to little details like this. “Ms. Gyleon, are you treating me as your chauffeur?” Charlie smiled in amusement.
Diana paused, then said, “N–No… not at all.”
He didn’t mind. He nodded gently, still wearing that warm, easy smile, and opened the front passenger door for her.
Seeing this, Diana had no choice but to walk over.
Just as she bent down to get in, he raised his hand to shield her head, preventing her from bumping into the car frame.
He was such a gentleman. Diana filently wondered why he had remained single his whole life.
“The recent videos from your artists seem to be doing quite well,” Charlie said as he drove.
Diana replied, “It’s thanks to you. After Stargaze heavily promoted their videos, more netizens saw them, which led to higher view counts.” Charlie smiled warmly. “Would you consider that a mutual success?”
Stargze, the short video app he had launched not long ago, was in desperate need of new users.
After Citrus Bless‘ unpopular artists found the right approach and style, the videos they posted on Stargaze started garnering attention online.
With the platform’s promotion, more people saw the content. At the same time, many new users discovered Stargaze and decided to join.
Diana smiled and said, “I’m looking forward to more collaborations in the future. I wish Stargaze a great future ahead.”
“Thanks.” Charlie smiled as well, clearly in a good mood. “And I hope you and your artists become famous nationwide. Your career will rise gradually, like the bright moon hanging high above, inspiring awe in everyone who looks up at it.”
