Chapter 80
The manager secretly observed Diana. She had never heard anything remarkable about Diana before.
Sure, she was quite well–known in Heyton, but that was only because her husband was the illustrious Vincent Hendrix.
It was because of his fame that his wife had gained some reputation as well.
But now, she was having an actress sell products in a livestream? That was absolutely ridiculous.
The manager didn’t even dare imagine the nightmare of seeing this trending for all the wrong reasons.
Sherry wasn’t even a high–ranking celebrity. If she got labeled as an “internet influencer“, that could mean the end of her career.
Inside the soundproof booth, everyone wore heavy expressions, their dissatisfaction growing.
But in the livestream room across from them, everything was proceeding smoothly in perfect order.
Despite the complaints from Sherry’s manager and Zachary, Diana remained calm throughout. She didn’t get angry, nor did she argue with them.
She simply looked down at her phone, which was currently displaying the livestream.
Thanks to Sherry’s recent popularity from livestream chats and a recent variety show appearance, the stream already had over 5000 viewers even though it had only started less than ten minutes ago.
Diana was very satisfied with this result, but that was only the beginning.
“Relax. The quality of these products is guaranteed. Good reviews and repeat customers aren’t a concern,” she explained. “As for the sales volume, don’t worry and just keep watching.” There were no exaggerated shouting gimmicks, no cheap or cringeworthy dances, and none of the typical low–effort antics common in many sales streams.
Instead, there was Sherry’s stunning face and a soothing, melodic voice. Her product descriptions were almost therapeutic. Even watching through the screen felt like a kind of enjoyment. A celebrity doing her first–ever livestream product sales sparked instant buzz online.
After all, livestream sales had traditionally been the domain of influencers and sales reps, not mainstream actresses.
As planned, the pre–arranged trending topics were quickly launched. Multiple marketing campaigns hit the internet simultaneously, drawing plenty of users onto the social platforms. Out of curiosity, many people flooded into Stargaze to check it out.
Within minutes, some of these curious viewers who were brand–new users quickly registered an account on Stargaze to join the fun.
“No way. A celebrity is selling stuff on a livestream? Is Citrus Bless that broke now, making their artists sell products just to stay afloat?”
“This is why people say Sherry’s just a pretty face with no acting skills, needing to fight influencers for gigs.”
“Tsk tsk… She does outshine those so–called “pretty–influencers” in the looks department. But isn’t she digging her own grave here? Is she stopping acting and moving on to selling stuff
now?”
Sherry’s manager saw the scrolling comments, too, and felt like her world was crumbling down around her.
She was on the verge of exploding, but out of respect for Evelyne, she held it all in.
This was a disaster. Her artist had already been mocked for being one with all looks and no skill, and now this? After today, even minor roles might be hard to land.
The manager was drowning in despair.

Zachary also saw the barrage of comments. With a look that said “I saw this coming,” he sighed deeply and grew even more convinced that Evelyne was being misled by Diana’s whims.
He knew full well that back at the factories, hundreds of workers were working frantically on the production lines.
The products hadn’t even been sold yet, and the warehouses were already overflowing with stock.
He sighed again, muttering under his breath, “It’s over. We’re screwed. If this stuff doesn’t move, we’ll have no choice but to clear it out at rock–bottom prices…”
