“Don’t worry, Lindsay. As long as I’m here, no one will lay a finger on you,” Louie said gently, looking at Lindsay with soft eyes.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she choked out, “Louie… don’t argue with Tamara just because of me.“”
He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. “It’s okay. Let me handle the rest.“}]
After calming her down, Louie stood up and marched over to me, brimming with anger. “If you’ve got a problem, take it out on me. Don’t drag innocent people into this!”
Before I could respond, my boss stepped forward, speaking up for me. “Sir, the security footage clearly shows that Miss Snyder threw the tea herself and tried to frame Miss Bishop.“}
He even held up his tablet, playing the footage for Louie to see.
As he watched, Louie’s expression shifted–confusion, disbelief, and then finally shame.}
“Lindsay… how could you?” he muttered after a long silence.>
I watched his reaction, feeling a tight knot in my chest. It stung.}
He’d rushed to defend her, believing her every word. And even now, after seeing the truth, he didn’t offer me a single apology.
Maybe she really was the one he loved.§
But it didn’t matter anymore. I had already let go and given them my blessing, if you could call it that.”
As such, Louie left the company with Lindsay, who had just been fired.
Meanwhile, Mr. Fowler, clearly feeling guilty for what had happened, acted fast. Within days, he registered a new branch of the company
in Europe and dumped a ton of money into promoting our new electric vehicle line.
Now, sitting in the CEO’s chair at the European division, I couldn’t help but feel like I was dreaming.
In just three days, I’d gone from vice president of a local branch to running an entire company overseas.}

Everything that belonged to Tamara was gone.!
All the couple’s items we’d bought together, the memories we’d shared, they’d vanished without a trace. Even the photo frames still hanging on the wall were empty.
That’s when it hit me–this was serious.
I turned to rush back out the door, but stopped dead in my tracks.
I didn’t know where to go.
in all the time we were together, I had never once asked where she liked to spend time, where she would go when she was sad, or where she might run to now!
I had no idea how to find her
