Chapter 5%
As I was flying across the ocean, Sebastian was waiting for me at the City Hall. He waited until it closed but Carrie never came.§
Sebastian sent a message to Carrie but there was no reply. When he called, the line informed him the phone was switched off. For the first time, Sebastian panicked. Carrie had never done this before.
He hurried back home, only to be shocked to find all of Carrie’s belongings gone. He distinctly remembered her saying she was leaving for Paris the next day and not today but it was not like all the luggage was empty.
“Where’s Madam? Wasn’t she leaving for Paris tomorrow?” Sebastian snapped as he grabbed. one of the housekeepers by the arm.§ The housekeeper trembled under his grip. “Sir, Madam said she was leaving today. I thought it was strange too, but it was her decision, so we didn’t question it.“2
The other housekeepers exchanged nervous glances.
“Useless, all of you!” Sebastian growled as he let the woman go.
He tried calling me again but noticed a message notification on his alternate WhatsApp account. It was his work account, one he rarely used to communicate with Carrie. Why did she message him here?}
When he opened the message, he found it was not a text message. There was only one photo.
In the dim light of a hotel room, a piece of black lace lingerie lay enticingly on the bed.
Relief flooded through him as the pieces clicked in his mind.}
“I must’ve been so busy I forgot about this!” he muttered, his mood lifting instantly.”
With renewed energy, Sebastian jumped into his car and sped to the hotel they had booked earlier. As he walked down the hallway to the room, his heart pounded in his chest and he looked nervous.
He tugged at his collar, took a deep breath and pushed the door open. However, the sight that greeted him made him freeze in his tracks. The woman he saw sitting on the bed was not his beloved fiancée, Carrie, instead it was Sunny!}
Sunny was dressed in the same black lace lingerie from the photo, a loose robe draped over her shoulders. She looked at him coyly. Her gaze filled with desire.
“What are you doing here? Where is Carrie?” Sebastian demanded anxiously. Her allure did not even move him.
Unfazed by his anxiety, Sunny stood up and sashayed toward him. Then she pressed her soft body against his chest and asked, “Sebastian, don’t you feel the slightest spark when you see me? It’s been years since we were together ….”
Before she could finish her word, Sebastian shoved her aside. He was too impatient to see the ravishing deep valley on her chest. From the very beginning, his focus remained laser–sharp on one question that he kept asking, “Where is Carrie?“}
Sunny’s irritation grew when she heard his question and pouted in exasperation. “Carrie, Carrie … Sebastian, I am handling myself to you like a piece of cake but why do you keep thinking about her? Aren’t you curious why I’m in this room?“}
Suppressing his growing impatience, Sebastian finally asked, “Fine. Why are you here?”
Sunny then spread a smile as she said, “I don’t know what came over her, but she transferred the suite reservation to me. Maybe she’s a frigid woman and she chickened out at the last minute.”
As she said this, she made a move, ready to jump all over Sebastian again but she was shoved again by him.
Sunny stumbled and fell on the bed.
Before she could voice her complaint, Sebastian bent over and gripped her neck hard. “Carrie never knew about us. Did you say something to her?” he growled.”
Caught off guard, Sunny was momentarily stunned by the fierce treatment she received. As his grip tightened, her own anger flared.N
She was so certain he would not do over the top that she raised her voice, “Sebastian, why are you pretending now? Wasn’t I the one you truly loved all along? You told Carrie to quit her competition and you stole her designs for me! Don’t you dare deny it!”
Slap! A resounding slap landed on Sunny’s face.”
“Sunny, don’t flatter yourself.” His tone was ice–cold, devoid of any warmth as he said, “All these years, I’ve treated you well. You should know why“!!
