Chapter 26
Cameron went down on one knee and confessed to Simone with all his heart. “I admit I made a lot of mistakes in our previous marriage, but I’ve learned from them and changed, Mona.
“Please believe me. I’m no longer the man who let you down. I’ve grown and changed. From now on, I’ll be the husband you deserve. I’ll love you forever, keep you safe, and always support you.
“Even though you’re not pregnant yet, the punishment should be over now, Mona. Can you forgive me?”
By the end, his tone was almost pleading. He was truly begging her for forgiveness, lowering himself completely.
She grinned in the face of his desperate pleas. Her smile was so stunning that it made all the lights seem dull in comparison.
Simone chuckled and asked, “Do you know why I’ve been sleeping with Wilbur all this time but still haven’t gotten pregnant, Cameron?”
Cameron was taken aback. He had a feeling something was off. Based on how many times Simone and Wilbur slept together, she should be pregnant already.
But how come her belly still hadn’t shown any signs of pregnancy after three months?
Before Cameron could ask, Simon smirked and revealed, “It’s because I’ve been taking birth control.”
This left him completely baffled. “What are you getting at, Mona?”
Her gaze toward him was filled with the thrill of revenge. “Are you still puzzled? Don’t you get it yet, Cameron? I’m just messing with you.
“Why would I forgive you? Dream on. I’ll take this grudge to my grave. I made you watch me try and get pregnant with another man because I wanted to get back at you.”
Cameron’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Simone. His voice trembled. “H–How could you do this? I did everything to earn your forgiveness. I–I

He almost said it. He made Sylvia have an abortion just to get her forgiveness. He had killed his own child for her.
The words were on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn’t bring himself to say them. After all, Simone didn’t know about Sylvia getting pregnant again. Plus, forcing a woman who was five months pregnant to get an abortion wasn’t exactly a noble thing.
Simone chuckled. “Congratulations, Cameron. You’ve finally felt what it’s like to be lied to and betrayed. We’re completely even.”
As she spoke, she grabbed her phone and called the police. That was the ultimate payback move. After torturing him long enough, she kicked him out of her world.
As the police dragged him away, he resisted. He struggled and screamed at the top of his lungs. “No! Mona! You can’t do this to me. I love you so much. I would do anything for you. How could you treat me like this?
“I even agreed to let you have a baby with another man. I had to watch you sleep with him. I put up with all that humiliation, and now you go back on your word.”
No matter how much he screamed, it didn’t help. The police just hauled him off. It was the second time he had harassed her, and there was video evidence, so the police took it seriously
Cameron ended up being detained by Kiverton police for a month, and he was also forced to wear an ankle monitor.
With the ankle monitor on, he could never get near Simone again. If he did, it would set off an alarm, and the chip inside would notify the closest police station, sending officers to arrest him immediately
If he got arrested more than five times, he would be deported from Kiverton and would have a hard time ever getting back in. She finally got what she wanted and was totally free from him.
