Chapter

Cameron stared blankly at the divorce papers on the vanity

Why was his signature on the last page? When had he ever signed something like this

1/1

Then, he suddenly remembered that Simone had handed him a document a few days ago

After they got married, she had taken charge of all their finances. It wasn’t unusual for her to ask him to sign off on some investment forms or account paperwork. She’d done it plenty of times before, and he never thought twice about it

Simone had a finance degree and a sharp investment mind. The stocks and portfolios she managed always performed well

Cameron had complete confidence in her. He never bothered to read the fine print. Whenever she brought something to sign, he just signed it

He had thought that document was just another investment proposal. He had no idea it was a divorce agreement

But that couldn’t be legally binding, right

Cameron frowned. I didn’t sign it knowingly,he reasoned. She tricked me. That’s got to make it invalid.”

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became. He suddenly chuckled to himself, feeling strangely reassured

14

I knew it! This divorce agreement isn’t even legally valid. She’s just mad. She’s not really divorcing me. If she actually wanted a divorce, she’d be fighting me for everything and claiming alienation. She wouldn’t just walk away like that.”

He thought Simone was just being dramatic, like in those TV shows where the female lead stormed out, the male lead realized what he had lost, and then started trying to win her back

Mona is just trying to get my attention,Cameron murmured to himself with a smile. She really is adorable.”

Feeling satisfied with that conclusion, Cameron relaxed completely. He didn’t take the divorce papers seriously at all

With a quick flick of his hand, he tore the divorce papers in half and tossed them into the trash. Then, he crumpled the goodbye note she had left and threw it away without a second glance

He assumed all of it was just a ploy to get him to chase her

Cameron was confident because he believed Simone loved him too much to ever truly leave

But still, even confident men knew when it was time to act. If he didn’t go after her soon, this fake divorce might just turn real

ין

So, Cameron turned to his assistant and ordered, “Find out where she went. Yes, sir.The assistant bowed his head and left to carry out the order immediately

Cameron figured if Simone was trying to play hard to get, she’d probably gone worst, he’d hire a private investigator. It wouldn’t cost much

into hiding somewhere. She wouldn’t make it easy to track her down. At

But what happened next left him completely speechless

That same night, his assistant returned with the results

Mr. Kirk, we’ve located Mrs. Kirk. She’s in Kiverton, the assistant said respectfully

Cameron raised an eyebrow. You found her that quickly? Are you sure she’s actually there?”

He couldn’t believe it had been so easy. Did Simone even try to hide properly

No mistake, the assistant replied. We confirmed it. Her company just opened a new branch office in Kiverton. They needed someone to head the team, and she submitted her application for the overseas position.”

That gave Cameron pause

Assignments like that weren’t temporary. Corporate placements overseas usually lasted at least three to five years

If Simone had just wanted to run away in anger, she could’ve gone abroad on her own. Why would she go through all that

The unease started to settle in his gut, but he wasn’t the type to waste time overthinking. He’d rather fly straight to Kiverton and question Simone directly

So without hesitation, Cameron booked the earliest flight to Kiverton for the next morning
